Look, I knew this is how Lost Songs would go but still, fuuuuuck The Haunting. :p

Yeah this was expected but my vote was for Enjoy the Silence, love that cover

Enjoy the Silence might be my favorite on Lost Songs too. And I will forever argue that The Haunting is a bottom 10 Anberlin song. Haha If I remember correctly this was the first song (or at least one of the first songs) Stephen wrote for Anberlin and I think it really shows. It just sounds, for lack of a better term, premature. Even weirder is, despite the reason for the lyrics and (most of) the melody being lackluster, the instrumental is just as bad (pretty sure that was made around the time of Cities). I hate the acoustic guitar sound, and the like, tambourine(?) or whatever playing along with it. It sounds super cheesy. Then whenever it picks up, it just feels like a really watered down “good” Anberlin song.

Don’t worry, I’ve doused myself in gasoline and am ready to accept the flaming (and sweet release of death) as a consequence of my deep hatred of what seems to be a fan favorite song. It’s been good, friends.

(Alright now you can all go back to voting for The Haunting... I’ve made my peace. Hahaha)

 

I actually agree with many points from above but I’d still argue that The Haunting is a better song than Uncanny. So i’ll go with that...

Sorry guys this will be kind of an off topic but I have to ask. Does anybody here have the "Pretend to be friends" short film from Anberlin? It was on the Best Buy DVD Edition of Vital and since the release I'm eager to watch it, but I can't find it anywhere, and because of the poor music distribution in our country, it was impossible for me to buy the DVD.
