Art of War I would totally take the acoustic live version over anything on this album tbh, Stephens voice is so great on it. Buttttttttt this is not that version so I had to vote accordingly.
I do believe I've tricked the failure gods this time and the song I want to win is finally going to win.
Oh man, the first title tiebreaker: The Art Of War: 8 (9) Take Me (As You Found Me): 8 Stay tuned for Vital (devotion)!!
NEVER TAKE BRACKETS PERSONAL: THE ANBERLIN BRACKET TOURNAMENT Good evening everyone and welcome to Chorus's next iteration of the discography bracket challenges. It is my pleasure to host a bracket for yet another of my all time favorite bands and I’m excited to see how this shakes out. Quick review: these are randomly generated brackets (no seeding!) to determine a winner for each album, which will then face off in a Champions bracket to decide the best overall Anberlin song! Rules: 1. Voting over a 10-24 hour period, depending on closeness and how busy i am that day lolz. 2. You must vote on every match in a round; ill only vote in the event of a tie. I am, however, generous with giving my opinions. 3. Please discuss your choices; don’t give the anti-bracketers ammo! 4. Byes may be necessary. These are randomly generated; I do not pick them. 5. Counted votes are signified by me 'liking' your post; no vote changes. Choose wisely! A word from the wise: People change in the brackets. Oh find the best song if you can. But be very wary, you might just lose yourself along the way. ANBERLIN FACE OFF: DEVOTION (VITAL) ----- Round 1 1) IJSW Vs. Unstable 2) Someone Anyone Vs. Safe Here Round 2 9) Winner of 1 Vs. No Love To Speak 3) Other Side Vs. City Electric 4) God, Drugs, & Sex Vs. Self Starter 5) Type Three Vs. Modern Age 10) Winner of 2 Vs. Orpheum 6) Little Tyrants Vs. Intentions 7) Innocent Vs. Said Too Much 8) Dead American Vs. Desires Begin!
Unstable Someone Anyone It's been great hearing the progression in sound on each album. They really hit their stride on Vital/Devotion
I know. I was just thinking to myself, "Not too many horrible matchups" then I saw that. IJSW Safe Here Safe Here is the best Anberlin b-side that isn't The Haunting.
Didn't expect Someone Anyone to get votes against it. Thought it was a favorite. I believe it's been a setlist staple since the album dropped.
I'm surprised too. I adore Safe Here, but didn't know others liked it that much. Esp. against Someone, Anyone (which is great).
This is going to be a nice round. There are five songs on this record that I'd be perfectly content if they win.
Feels like sometimes singles make it as set staples solely because they’re singles (holy shit that alliteration) and not because they’re that good. Someone anyone is that kind of song to me haha Take Me is one of my least favorite anberlin songs not on New Surrender hahah and art of war has grown on me a lot
