I was going to say, the comment by @SpyKi I took as NTFP just being that strong of an album, and NS not being so. Even though I like TFGD more, I agree with that statement if that is what was meant.
What I love about the NTFP version of FGD is the aggression in Stephen's vocals make the song unique in their discography. That was lost on the NS version even if it is the "better" version. People who were mad about them re-recording it can just go away though. It single-handedly kept the band going.
Indeed. I always thought Anberlin's heavier side was stronger than they're poppier side, which is kind of interesting because I always made the same comparison with Switchfoot except the opposite (always liked their poppier side as opposed to their heavier side). Both were my favorite bands as a teen is why I bring that up. Haha.
Live they always jammed so hard and usually played all their faster paced songs which is strange since from Cities on, each album only had a few real bangers on them.
Feel Good Drag eeks by! Breaking: 6 Disappear: 12 The Resistance: 8 Feel Good Drag: 10 Fun fact about your host: for years FGD was my favorite anberlin song. I still love it dearly but probably would’ve voted for Resistance. Here is our final: Disappear Vs. Feel Good Drag
Disappear Love both of these songs and had to think about this for a good 10-15 minutes or so before voting. They are an awesome 1-2 punch on an album that I feel, for the most part, desperately lacks that sort of thing. One is the most successful song they have ever written, and the other is, I feel, a relatively unsung hero. I decided to give it to disappear because of how underrated i feel it is in terms of their overall discography. Everyone knows Feel Good Drag, so I will give my nod to a song that, in my opinion is just as good and yet given less recognition.
Each post-Cities album with the exception of Vital. That album was full of bangers. Lol. I can't say banger without thinking of Mrs. Featherbottom aka Tobias Funke.
I'm sorry this is not bracket related but I just put on Cities live on a whim and it's giving me goosebumps. so good.
