If you have to break the tie I feel for you having that on your shoulders. I think Resistance is a better song but we don't have the NTFP version of Feel Goo D Drag in the running anymore so I wouldn't be mad if that one won.
Yea as i said during the NTFP bracket it feels weird having the inferior one progress but it is still a damn good song. Yep, that’s what we do. There will be a wild card round as well with the runners up We have a temporary tie breaker: Breaking: 6 Disappear: 11 The Resistance: 8 Feel Good Drag: 9
sorry, I meant in a broader sense. Like Thrice winner vs. Anberlin winner vs. Yellowcard vs. Gaslight, etc.
Ooh my bad. I would be so down for that, it may actually have been proposed. Perhaps for March madness haha what say you, @BTDandFeelingThis
It is Inferior for sure. Shorter last chorus and no scream That new intro they added to it rocks. If there was a way to put the intro for the NS version onto the NTFP one, it'd be perfect haha.
I’d so be down for that Though as father of brackets I declare the winner of Brand New automatically fucks off because that band is gross now
Good. I’d have to try and recount who won every bracket I ran. Blink-182: Feeling This Taking Back Sunday: One-Eighty By Summer My Chemical Romance: Famous Last Words Linkin Park: Faint Off the top of my head.
Jimmy Eat World: 23 Thrice: The Earth Will Shake Motion City Soundtrack: Even If It Kills Me Gaslight: The Backseat Alkaline Trio: All On Black Relient K: When I Go Down
Couldn’t remember if it was this or call It Karma but now that i think about it, pretty sure it was SIYS. Ugh so many better songs I’d want new listeners/voters to hear. Still great though
I’m partial to the New Surrender version because of the intro and that sweet ass pinch harmonic in the solo.
Years ago I combined the intro and I think what are you referencing in the solo into the NTFP version. I think I did a poor job at making it sound like the same song though.... lol
I think that, for the most part, the differences to the versions are very insignificant. I never really understood the backlash people had to them re-recording and re-releasing it. It’s the most successful thing they ever did. Having said that, personally I prefer the original because I associate with the group of songs from NTFP, so it’s never felt like a NS song to me. But, when it comes to the actual recordings, I don’t really see much of a difference beyond the intro and the scream.
Agreed on the bold points for sure. I didn't hear of a ton of backlash but that is dumb, even from someone who loves the NTFP version more.
