Me too, almost as crazy as Reclusion getting so many last round. Those two are easily my bottom 2 on the album and Cable Car is probs top 3.

 

Lol. I can relate. I initially read Cricketandclover's comment as positive about Whisper and felt very satisfied until I read it again.

It’s a good song that does not belong on this album at all. It does not fit in in any way.

 

I think the production of it makes it fit in. It has the same crispness that lots of the other songs on Cities have, and I’m not sure that any of their other albums have that exact quality.

But, I get why people think it should’ve been left off based on the tone of the rest of the album.

Adelaide is perfect. Adelaide belongs on Cities. Adelaide belongs as track 3 on Cities. Adelaide should not be anywhere else other than track 3 on Cities.

Oh god. Cable car knocking out 2 of my favorites on the album. This is The Earth Will Shake in the Thrice bracket all over again.

 

Also as much as I love The Haunting and wish it was on Cities, I wouldn't cut Adelaide for it, nor would I know where to put it on the album.

 

This album has had a disturbing amount of blowouts, the heck you guys doing??

Also in regards to the Adelaide debate, our conception of what cities is is built on 10+ years of knowing cities is there... if another track like the haunting was in its place cities would be something else. And imo even better lolz. That said, haunting > Adelaide >> Whisper.

 

Your indifference to A Whisper & A Clamor will always be a source of friction between us, I fear.

Godspeed, A Whisper & a Clamor, The Unwinding Cable Car, Dismantle. Repair, and (*Fin) are all top 10 Anberlin songs for me. Any matchup is going to hurt.

Going with Cable Car over (*Fin) for playability reasons. (*Fin) is (*Fin) but I rarely listen to it outside the context of the entire record.
