We’ve got 3 blowout and one really tight battle at hand: Audrey, Start The Revolution: 12 A Heavy Handed Work Of Staggering Genius: 00 Never Take Friendship Personal: 5 Time and Confusion: 7 A Day Late: 11 The Runaways: 1 Dance, Dance, Christa Paffgen: 2 Paperthin Hymn: 10 I gotchu bruh
Audrey Start The Revolution Never Take Friendship Personal (tough) The Runaways (also tough, surprised this song is losing so hard) Paperthin Hymn (both amazing songs but paperthin means so much to me)
Audrey, Start The Revolution Time and Confusion (My favorite on the album, though DDCP might be the best song on the album.) A Day Late Dance, Dance, Christa Paffgen (How in the fuck is this losing so badly to "Paperthin Hymn"? You all need new ears. This is easily in contention for their overall best song.)
I like Runaways a lot, especially Phil Sneed’s guest vocals. It just had the unfortunate position of being against Day Late. Also I had to vote for Paperthin because of how much it means to me on a deeply personal level, but there’s no denying that Dance is an absolutely incredible song.
Did you ever see videos of that show where Stephen couldn't make a show and had Dan and Phil from SOTY fill in on vocals? It was awesome.
Totally agree. Such a great song. In fact, I was pretty indifferent about Anberlin until Cities came out. I bought this album and Blueprints but nothing really clicked... apart from this song. If it hadn’t been for this song I probably wouldn’t have got Cities, which is still one of my favourite ever albums. (For the record, I do retrospectively enjoy this album now.)
Incidentally, there are some pretty cool features on this album: Phil Sneed (Story of the Year) - The Runaways Seth Roberts (Watashi Wa) - Stationary Stationery Ryan Clark (Demon Hunter) - Never Take Friendship Personal Mike Weiss (mewithoutYou) - Dance, Dance, Christa Päffgen (guitar work)
Audrey, Start the Revolution Time & Confusion A Day Late Paperthin Hymn Pleasantly surprised to see Time & Confusion doing so well. The Runaways is solid, but it might be my least favorite on the album barring A Heavy Hearted Work. Christa Paffgen is a tremendous song with the unfortunate task of being paired with Paperthin Hymn.
Paperthin is my favorite song on the album and easily within the top 10 all time Anberlin songs for me. Christa is great but just couldn't hold up to that.
Well that shall do it for this round. Time and Confusion completes the upset! Well, I thought it was an upset. Here are our final scores (with a new record of votes!): Audrey, Start The Revolution: 16 A Heavy Handed Work Of Staggering Genius: 00 Never Take Friendship Personal: 6 Time and Confusion: 10 A Day Late: 14 The Runaways: 2 Dance, Dance, Christa Paffgen: 4 Paperthin Hymn: 12 Moving on! Audrey, Start The Revolution Vs. Time and Confusion A Day Late Vs. Paperthin Hymn
