I know I haven’t been participating in this bracket but yeah this band rules and their b-sides are top notch

 

I need to go through those more myself. Like Lost Songs did not get enough attention from me at the time. I will probably sit that one out.

 

Given i would’ve voted in favor of the leaders of the 2 closest matches anyway, i think it’s probably safe to move on. Here are our final scores:

"I'd Like to Die" is a Dark is the Way b-side along with "Hell or High Water". Interestingly, those are like the only two b-sides not available to purchase and I think they're two of their strongest.

Even though I'm going with Cadence, I have to say Cold War Transmissions holds up exceedingly well over time. There are four clear standouts for me (Readyfuels, Glass, Cadence, and Naive Orleans) and I'd put Cold War right behind them. Very underrated song. But it's still gotta go.

Ha, I had no idea which of the songs you meant until you said Naive Orleans later! Not my favourite song at all.

 

If Naive Orleans hadn't been pitted against Glass to the Arson, I'd have picked it over anything else.

I'm honestly shocked that Naive Orleans isn't everyone's favourite on this thing.

 

Hot take: I think Hell Or High Water is a better song than To The Wolves and should have replaced it on Dark Is The Way.

 

To the Wolves is one of the worst songs they've ever done. Anything should have replaced it. Honestly they should have scrapped at least half of that album.

 

Yeah, To The Wolves is not great.

haha sorry! I really like that song, but also think Change the world, Glass to Arson and Readyfuels still hold up too.

I am deeply concerned about anyone who chose Heist over Love Song.
To be clear, the best songs on this album are cadence, Love Song, Glass, naive, and Cold War, not necessarily in that order but probably.

Also To The Wolves is wonderful, one of my favorites on that record.

 

Love Song is a good song, but a cover so I get why people didn't vote for it.

Cold War Transmissions vs. Cadence was the toughest one for me this round. I thought about it for a bit, but I give Cold War Transmissions just the slightest edge.

I feel weird voting for a cover song over an original song, but I've never really been a fan of We Dreamt In Heist's chorus. I actually find it pretty annoying.

Glass To The Arson over The Undeveloped Story was pretty easy, as was Readyfuels over Autobahn.
