NEVER TAKE BRACKETS PERSONAL: THE ANBERLIN BRACKET TOURNAMENT
    title courtesy of @DesolateEarth

Good evening everyone and welcome to Chorus's next iteration of the discography bracket challenges. It is my pleasure to host a bracket for yet another of my all time favorite bands and I’m excited to see how this shakes out. Quick review: these are randomly generated brackets (no seeding!) to determine a winner for each album, which will then face off in a Champions bracket to decide the best overall Anberlin song!

    Rules:
    1. Voting over a 10-24 hour period, depending on closeness and how busy i am that day lolz.
    2. You must vote on every match in a round; ill only vote in the event of a tie. I am, however, generous with giving my opinions.
    3. Please discuss your choices; don’t give the anti-bracketers ammo!
    4. Byes may be necessary. These are randomly generated; I do not pick them.
    5. Counted votes are signified by me 'liking' your post; no vote changes. Choose wisely!

A word from the wise: People change in the brackets. Oh find the best song if you can. But be very wary, you might just lose yourself along the way.

So excited for this. Favorite band ever! Will there be a bracket for b-sides too? That would give us an even eight songs for the final bracket right?

    Cadence (Easy choice)
Glass To The Arson (both solid songs, but the slight edge goes to Glass for me.)
Readyfuels (Again pretty easy, always thought Change The World was pretty bland except for the bridge which is good)

Blueprints For The Black Market suffers from some of the problems that a lot of debut albums do, but despite that it is still pretty decent and has some strong songs. At the very least, it's an album that kicked off a great band's career.

I'm surprised Cadence is doing so well. It sounds like a forced loved song wrapped up in religious lyrics and metaphors.

we are nothing more than mannequins Prestigious

    Cadence
    Naive Orleans
    Change The World (Lost Ones)

Cadence vs. Foreign Language was a really easy matchup for me. Cadence is in my top 5 on the album and Foreign Language is probably my least favorite song on the album.

Naive Orleans vs. Glass To The Arson is so tough for the first round! I would've liked to see this as the final matchup for this bracket. These are my top two songs on the album, but Naive Orleans gets the slight edge. If I put together an Anberlin top 10 list, I think that both of these songs would be in it.

Readyfuels vs. Change The World (Lost Ones) was pretty much even for me. I give the slight edge to Change The World (Lost Ones) because I prefer its chorus over Readyfuels' chorus. I think Readyfuels is a solid track overall, but I think it may be one of the more overrated song in their catalog. I just say this because there are a few songs on this album that I prefer over it, but it seems that Readyfuels is typically the only song off of this album that they played live in their later years.

I really miss Anberlin a lot. I had the pleasure of seeing them live multiple times between 2002 (at Cornerstone Festival prior to this album's release) up through their farewell tour in 2014 and they brought it every single time. They will always have a special place in my heart. On a side note, listening to this album makes me feel a little nostalgic for early-mid 2000's Tooth & Nail/Solid State artists. I associate Anberlin a lot with groups like mewithoutYou, Dead Poetic, Emery, The Classic Crime, Norma Jean, etc. and that was a really fun era to experience.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the Anberlin brackets! Thank you @js977 for running them!

I am mostly looking forward to the albums after this one. I don't think this album is bad (especially for a debut), but I just don't return to it. I've always felt if you want this sound from Anberlin you are better off listening to Friendship.

Yea.... this album is a pretty standard debut album that has some good stuff, and some stuff that does not really hold up at all. Then The next album is the real start of the band’s great work.

-Cadence (I've always thought FL was goofy lol)

    -Glass To The Arson

-Readyfuels (This one was hard, both are pretty good songs. That guitar riff that starts Readyfuels sells me more though)
