Hope it's okay to post here, but I shared a cover of (part of) Dismantle. Repair on Instagram to celebrate my 32nd bday and 17 years since hearing Cities for the first time. This song feels so much more relevant to me now at my age than it did at 15. It's crazy.

Lowborn is 11 now. Their final full length.

 

Listening to Lowborn now. Adored it when it dropped, but chilled on it more recently. I think I'm going back to my original opinion with this listen though. It sounds so great. Atonement is probably their best ballad and everything else just works for me, even if Dissenter does sound like Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem.

Best thing to come out of this era so far is definitely the amount of disparaging nicknames we've come up with for the band.

I love Dissenter lol. It hyped me up so much for the album. I’m not super into heavy music, but I loved how it just sounded like a band doing whatever they wanted for their last album. Really dig the harmonies on the chorus.

Kind of reminds me of God Approved Insurance Plan from the latest Fireworks album.

 

He doesn’t sound bad here. A little weird because it’s not Stephen but technically not bad.

 

He sounds fine. Still have a hard time adjusting to the old songs because his particular tone makes the band sound like they were a run of the mill 00s scene band. That very nasally kind of singing was all the rage back then.

I remain open to new material if it plays to his strengths. More like "Seven". It'll get boring quick if they stick to this back to the roots mindset instead, though I get their motive.

 

Matty says core Anberlin fans are on board through thick and thin in this interview clip. That’s definitely not the case on here.
