not to flip the coin but yall have me thinking about my old favorites now lmao. if i may share my goats from every album - cadence - blase - fin - retrace - art of war - self starter - safe here - hearing voices still havent heard silverline + convinced
I would imagine there has to be research that shows that naming songs the main line of the chorus makes it easier for people to access
I’ve always thought no mathematics was underrated. No one ever talks about it but it’s a great song and they were a bit ahead of the curve doing some cool things electronically on that song.
maybe it’s because I held onto those songs as the heaviest on the album (and I’m surprised others didn’t) but I love closer and to the wolves lol. I think the buildup in closer’s chorus is epic. Like everyone else I lamented the simpler songs on Dark when it was released but I still think it’s a really well put together, well produced, graceful album. Idr what visu sounds like but retrace and Armageddon are also some of my favorites on their respective albums lol
Least favorite/most favorite Love Song (covers are whatever to me)/Ready Fuels The Runaways/Symphony of Blase or Stationary Adelaide/Reclusion or (*Fin) Haight St/The Resistance Take Me/Down Innocent/Desires I need to revisit Lowborn to make pics. I like it overall. Same for the EP’s.
Can I just say how refreshing it is to be talking about this band and not Matty? Can we all make a pact to treat this thread like an alternate timeline where the Matty thing never happened, and just share all the fond memories we have of this band that’s no longer with us?
least/most foreign language/cold war transmissions audrey, start the revolution!/dance, dance, christa paffgen adelaide/dismantle. repair. younglife/retrace you belong here/art of war someone anyone/modern age dissenter/hearing voices banshee/asking fun discography run today!

i don't hate it, but of all the Anberlin songs my old church played over the loudspeakers in our youth center (which is how i first discovered them), they played that one the most, and boy, it got old very quickly, lol
just now remembering that my church might've actually played Adelaide more than Audrey, which probably explains why i rank it so low
there’s not too many anberlin tracks i straight up don’t like, but something’s gotta be my least favorite. i don’t listen to the first four albums as much anymore, so those choices were just what stuck out to me on my listen through today. ntfp and cities are really good albums! audrey and adelaide are good songs!
Everyone and the band says Adelaide doesn't fit on Cities, but I just can't hear the end of Godspeed without hearing the beginning of Adelaide coming right after it. It's a cool scene change. Same with Mathematics coming right after Cable Car. Or Inevitable after Reclusion. It's my favorite album of all-time, so of course I'm gonna be complimentary, but one of my favorite things about Cities is how diverse it is, and how it shifts moods so smoothly without ever feeling disjointed.
