Fingers crossed. Gonna wait a day or two I think. A much needed album in my collection.

 

If the whole Matty thing hadn’t happened, I would have bought it right away. But how the band handled and communicated it, along with hating on people who don’t like Marty’s vocals, my love of the band has dipped.

 

MOV will probably pop up at your local store, I’d go that route.

 

Anberlin was such a great band

 

Hope they get back together some day.

Hello Alone has to be in the running for best Anberlin song. I know the right answer is Dismantle Repair but it’s just sooooo good

 

Also, Alexithymia? Bridge is good but could have been a b-side. The haunting should have made it on this record

I could be way off because it’s been so long but I could’ve sworn that they said The Haunting was supposed to be on there but wasn’t due to miscommunication

 

i remember years ago asking Stephen during a Reddit Q&A what song they would go back and rewrite/rerecord FGD style if they could, and he said Alexithymia because he wasn't a huge fan of how the chorus turned out. fun song, but definitely one of the weaker cuts for me on the album

 

Alexithymia is one of my favourites lol

Really like Alexithymia except the use of conversate

 

I know they said they wished they'd put it on. It's one of their best, but I still can't imagine where it would go on the album.

 

they’ve always sorta been sister songs in my mind, the most alike to each other than any other song on the record. That said, always felt like hello alone was looked over.

most days my vote for favorite is between those 2 and reclusion.

 

Yeah I listened to Hello Alone on full blast today and it brought forth the feels. Such an epic chorus.

Followed it up with Dismantle. Repair because I actually relate the two songs as well. Definitely the heaviest hitters on that album.

 

They played a fest here yesterday with one guitarist and lemme tell ya it did not sound very good

A Whisper & A Clamor is the best song on Cities, maybe my favorite from the band
