im seeing them live in a couple weeks with matty, im excited to see how it goes!

 

They were going back and forth on the mix for awhile. Still though, this should have been out by now...

 

I know this band doesn’t owe me anything and they get to do whatever they want without needing to ask me…

But if it was up to me I think I’d rather them just do an EP or album every 3-5 years and just regulate it to “we put out albums wherever we can but we’re not really a full time touring band anymore” type thing.

I guess I don’t know how financially viable that is.

 

i also would have preferred stephen to bail prior to them coming back hard, here is two new EPs, all this touring, oh wait i dont wanna tour anymore, GOODBYE

 

I think it feels especially weird because these newest EP’s were super energetic and that just clashed so hard with the weird ambivalence of the Marty Mullins and touring news

 

Marty Mullins is my favorite anberlin vocalist!

 

one thing i'm curious about is if the old songs might get some touch ups not heard on the EPs, like a remaster or some added instrumental flair

 

I hope the two new songs are just more ocean sounds

 

I'd prefer it to Marty Mullings

I truly loved the EPs and the direction they were going. Both seemed to have more "life" in them compared to Lowborn. I do need to go back to Lowborn soon, though.

 

just listened to the tentative sequencing for Vega minus the two new songs. somehow it works better than expected, although some placement choices i'm still upset about.

 

Another reason I don't mind that this is just the two EPs plus those 2 new songs is because I won't need to pick this up on vinyl considering I already have both EPs. 2 new songs can stay as MP3s for me and can be ignored by those that wish it that way.

 

Did the opposite, no EPs bought. Hoping all the songs now have Marty on vocals so I can buy all Vega vinyl.

 

After listening to my own version over the last year it's going to take some adjusting haha

 

same. just finishing up another listen. also given the length with the two extra songs, this is looking like it's gonna be a double LP when it comes time to sell the whole thing on vinyl.

 

Hard to believe it’s coming up on 10 years since their farewell tour. I was semi-excited when the EPs came out but didn’t return to them much at all, and the fact that a new Anberlin LP is on the way and I feel no sense of excitement for it whatsoever is a strange reality.

 

The two EPs are incredible though. Like top-tier Anberlin.

 

the highs are massive on them. Lacerate is a top 5 Anberlin song.

 

I love the EPs but this whole Matty Mullins thing has deflated all the excitement moving forward I had about this band.
