On the surface that lineup is like WHOA and then I'm like... wait, it's Anberlin with matt and Saosin with Cove... pass.

 

Absolutely no interest in this tour other than seeing where it's routed...amazing that North Dakota is getting a stop, while the PNW is nowhere to be found...barely even California is represented. Someone who loves these bands in those areas is gonna be bummed lol

 

Cove has sounded much better live as of late.

Really not a fan of these super emo-y tour titles.

 

Mixed bag line up for my date. Would dig seeing Thursday, Armor, and Anberlin*. Dont really care about Wild Life, Stick To Your Guns, or Hawthorne. I’d have to imagine Armor’s set would be pretty similar to their set on the current Bayside tour. I just saw Thursday headline and imagine this set is much shorter. And Anberlin is, well, 4/5 Anberlin.

So, I don’t know if I’ll go.

I don't either. Something about them leaning into the "emo" schtick when it was such a derogatory term when the bands were initially popular feels odd.

 

Yeah but "punk" and "nu-metal" were like that too. A lot of genres start as insults.

 

Closest date to me is missing Thursday, Saosin, and armor. But I get matty. Not sure about this now.

can’t believe the rotating stages of taste of chaos didn’t become industry standard. Why are we still waiting between bands on large bills.

 

i wanna go mainly to my date for i see stars but the rest of the lineup is fun too, also don't know how this wild life is still a thing, i don't have any friends who listen to them and always forget about em

 

I like ISS’s music but the 3 times I’ve seen them, during different eras of the band, was absolute fucking garbage. Do not recommend wasting money on them

 

i saw them last year and in 2019 and they were fantastic, i first saw them back in the day and dont remember their set haha but the last two times were soo good! im excited to see them again! hoping for a beefier set this time too but we shall see

 

Well I’m glad you enjoyed them at least. That’s all that matters in the end. But yeah never again for me lol

 

oh totally understandable, i mean they were children when they started haha but my friend noticed last year when they opened up for bad omens that devin was better at working the crowd and getting people into it, i was like yah dude they are a veteran band at this point. they've played big festivals before, and it was their comeback tour and people were really into it!

20 year anniversary pressing BUT Matty re-records the vocals (I am scared that this is a possibility)

 

my friends cover band played last night, they do all the throwbacks of yesteryear from mcr, panic, paramore, fob, tsl, cartel, etc and they busted out feel good drag by anberlin and i got into it, singing along, throwing my hand up, the usual haha and after the song this cute girl came and tapped my on the shoulder and asked what the name and band was that they just played, she looked early to mid 20s so i told her and she thanks me profusely and walked back to her friend group, i looked over 30 seconds later and she waved me over so i went by em and she had her spotify up and she asked is this it? what version? i was like either or lol it doesn't matter at this point and then i told her they are playing this summer with hawthorne heights, emery, i see stars, and her and her bf's eyes lit up, they were like what that is a huge line up, i was like yah you should go haha it made me feel old but it also made me feel good, because a cover band playing a 3 hour set of hits, anberlin is most definitely a deep cut.

 

I guess just Stephen confirmed there’s a new album coming sometime this year with him on vocals? On some livestream clip, over on Anberlin Reddit.

 

I mean, we know they’ve been in the studio. Nice to hear it is a full length and not an EP.

 

Totally. I’d say him confirming he’s on vocals is more of the news here though. We’ll see if that is actually the case though.

 

They always said he would be on the studio stuff. I know there were rumors Matty would also, but Stephen was always confirmed. I guess we shall see if it’s all Stephen or a mix.

 

It was him referring to Anberlin as “they” and seeming like he doesn’t even know when they’re gonna release the album for me.

 

They did, but then I feel like it got a bit ambiguous with all the updates with/about Matty doing vocals. I dunno, maybe it’s just my interpretation.

 

I haven’t seen anything to indicate that the new album won’t just be the 2 EP’s combined with a couple extra songs. New songs will likely be combined vocals with Stephen and another with just Matty.

 

That would be lame.
