new interview out. looks like their plan is to release another ep after silverline, then combine the two eps with some “new material” for a full length. Anberlin — HM Magazine
the new video is just... nah for me. doesn't add to the song at all. good for those that do like it, but it's not my bag.
Saw them play Circles for the first time tonight and they killed it (and Two Graves). They literally stopped added Circles midway through Cities after someone requested it, lol wild
An insane individual, partway thru Cities, their magnum opus, requested Circles...and the band obliged? Wat.
Personally, I'm not a fan of that. On any random tour, it'd be fine (if not encouraged) to throw in a random song into the playlist due to a request. But album tours are different to me. I'm going to see the album played front to back. No need to interrupt that with a new single. Just wait til the album is done and play it in the encore or something.
I was there as well. It was very organic and super well received. The most fun I’ve ever seen them have on stage together. Super laid back and fun. And Circles killed live!
If anyone comes across a live video definitely post! I took a quick look this morning but couldn't find one.
Awesome interview from Adam Grundy here, Stephen Christian of Anberlin very interesting to me that two of these songs were Anchor&Braille songs that were held back from the last album, I'm going to want to hear the original versions of them now too!
that album was… bad. so i hope it’s nothing like that, ha. he makes it sound like they changed things up quite a bit, even from the demos. and i love two graves and circles, so should be good.
no way, TENSION was damn good. Completely out of left field and different from his other A&B albums, but it's good
i only listened to Tension once. the production was pretty good, but i remember thinking the lyricism wasn't amazing. i could be wrong though, it's been a bit. still wish he stuck with Aaron Marsh for LP4, like he originally planned.
idk i felt the lyrics were either really generic or really christian, which i'm not super into at this point. his singing style wasn't my favorite on this one. i'm glad so many people like it!
Of the A&B albums, they rank in the order they came out. Tension didn’t do it for me but as long as Stellan keeps cranking music out, I’ll listen
