Snagged the Eclipse variant, glad that they put all 5 songs on one side as it's a pain to flip a record with only 2/3 songs. Excited to hear the rest!
Did Stephen ever address his involvement in that weird anti-vax Watashi Wa song, or are we past that now?
i think Stephen said something about it on his IG story yesterday (that the song was originally more tied to Anberlin than Watashi Wa). unfortunately it's gone now. if it started as an Anberlin track, it's probably somewhat different from the final version, as the WW members and Stephen are credited as cowriters. my hope is that he wasn't responsible for the worst of the lyrics.
Part of me would like to know "hey are any of these guys antivaxers?" before I start promoting and talking about this EP. Part of me wants to not know and just enjoy the music.
At this point Stephen is fully aware of the Watashi Wa album that he decided to be a part of (and the rest of the band theoretically, being credited as Anberlin). They could have easily done what Matt Theissen / Relient K did and completely remove themselves from the album, but they chose not to.
The best part about his guest appearance is that the majority of the video is Seth, like, doing this weird hopping thing through a diner where everyone is glued to their phones (LiKe zOmbIeS dO yOu GeT iT?!?), and then Stephen’s bit in the bridge hits and he appears singing on a girl’s phone. And he’s clearly singing while walking around his house. Probably the easiest music video contribution he’s ever made.
doesn't help i'm moving in exactly a month and don't know the new shipping address/unit number formatting just yet, lol. i'm sure Benchmark will be kind about updating it though.
Just want to say that putting this song on after finishing the finale episodes of Stranger Things 4 = chef's kiss
I wonder if this is just a one off EP or if it will eventually be half of an album or something. Nate said on instagram this is the batch they recorded over a year ago, and they’ve been posting recent studio stuff. Idk why but that would indicate to me that this will be its own thing. I’d prefer that be the case because I know I’m gonna wear those 5 songs out haha. Can’t get over how massive Circles is.
End of Circles sounds like it is supposed to go directly into something else, I was wondering if it was just pulled from an album track list.
Circles definitely sounds like it was supposed to lead into something else. I really hope if they have an LP planned that it is at least mostly songs not off the EP. Maybe 1-2 EP songs would be cool, but I'd much prefer the EP as a sort of teaser and then the LP be it's own new thing.
