Vinyl copies of each of their full-lengths with alternate artwork. I think it might also contain essays or interviews about each album, or more detailed liner notes at least.
i actually just opened up mine today because it was delivered to my parents' house. its got the records, a slipmat (which i'm seeing is not mentioned on the current listing on their website), a pretty large, 24-page book with blurbs about each of the records, and came with 2 prints (the Vital cover, and a different piece apparently inspired by "someone, anyone"). the box has a nice felt feel and a removable top.
That sounds so awesome. I've wanted one since they were first announced but I have never been able to justify the price. Not that it's a bad deal, just that I can't afford it myself, ha.
yea after having forgotten i had it it was a really nice surprise haha, albeit a tough pill to swallow financially
Amazing. Thinking of selling my Anberlin slip-mat that came in the Vinyl Boxset if anyone's interested.
I have a lot of Anberlin stuff I might be looking to sell. Signed CDs, signed posters, signed magazines, shirts, hoodies, vinyl, etc. Are things like that something anyone here might be interested in? Still need to inventory it all, take photos, etc.
Got a busy weekend but next week I'll orangize everything and list what I have. Shirt sizes are large.
Man, I am so happy people are still talking about this amazing band. Just wanted to chime in with my top 10 :) 1. Unwinding Cable Car 2. Stranger Ways 3. Dance Dance Christa Paffgen 4. Losing it All 5. Armageddon 6. Type Three 7. God Drugs & Sex 8. Inevitable 9. Fin 10. Godspeed
Agreed. Great list. I thought maybe my love for Lowborn would wear off after the final album hype but I think it's at a permanent #2 spot after Cities for me in their discography. There's something truly special about it.
Yeah it's such a climatic album in terms of tone and song structure. I really dig those 'slow burn' type of songs. And on top of that the melodies are insane.
YES. Climactic is such a good word for it. I feel like every song on the album brings about this epic sense of closure to their career. Considering the fact that the album was almost an afterthought, it's way better than it had any business being. I'd even dare to call it perfect.
Is anyone interested in buying the first pressing of the Help Yourself box set? I bought it on impulse, but I still haven't opened it. Not really looking to make any money from it, just want to recoup what I paid plus my shipping costs to get it to you. PM me if interested.
had a couple drinks this past weekend and was listening to old music, this song came up and i got the same way. haha
I needed this band today. They really do strike an emotional nerve with me and certain Anberlin songs are tethered to very significant moments in my life. I miss this band very much.
Been jamming to Vitals this past week. I never really gave it a chance when it first came out and IDK why. The other day I drove to the ocean and listened to the album while watching a storm break. What an experience and new appreciation I have with that album now.
