Wow, not bad. Hopefully LN doesn't jack them up too much over the next few days. Since that's a thing they do now
My gf has a Citi card so she snagged a couple Chicago tickets. Came to about $45 each with fees, not awful.
Got two tickets for me and the wife, actually really excited for ATL being the last spot on the tour. Not to my knowledge. The fine print made sure to say, "not part of VIP packages - they are tickets only. "
This is what I’m hoping - or they’ll do their “final” shows to wrap up the whole world tour again. After they go overseas and such. Then again I could see them doing “warm up” shows in Florida.
A sidenote that may only interest me: Dustin Kensrue left Thrice to do full time ministry at a mega-church. He put out a worship record that flopped (even though I love it). He discovered the church is 1000x more unhealthy than he could imagine, said ‘fuck this’ and came back after a couple years to Thrice. Stephen Christian left Anberlin to do full time ministry at a mega-church. He put out a worship record that flopped (even though I love it). He’s never, to my knowledge, said anything negative about his experience doing ministry, but it’s noteworthy that he only lasted a couple years until he moved across the country to another ministry (note: I’m a pastor. 2-3 year ministry stints are the norm, but also are bad 99% of the time. Because what Dustin discovered is true all over). He’s now apparently coming back to Anberlin in some capacity, which means the full time ministry is, at the very least, on hold, and more than likely, done (churches don’t generally give you several months off until you’ve been in ministry for 25 years. And even then, it’s rare, and not an annual thing). I don’t know what the overarching lesson is. I suppose there could be several. But I do think this is why Stephen was so adamant they weren’t coming back - he truly believed that church work was a lifelong calling. It just turns out that usually, it’s not.
I know this isn’t much to go off of... but a friend of a friend works at Christian McAlhaney’s studio and is *confident* Anberlin have secretly been working on a new album for a while. I don’t know anything more than that, and feel free to disregard this since I don’t have any proof. Just thought I’d share.
Anberlin tickets and VIP packages go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time. There will be an AltPress exclusive presale this Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time with the code ALTPRESS.
It’d be really cool if this band just stopped keeping secrets and being cryptic but I think they enjoy it too much :(
They’re probably just trying to replicate what Underoath did with their rebirth tour. I do agree though - I would love for them to confirm if they’re fully back or not.
I bet a new album from them would be kick-ass. With the members rested and excited to be a band again? That sounds awesome!
