I was there tonight. On the floor at the barricade, but far off to the right. Still a sick show regardless.
On a big Anberlin kick for the first time in a wee while. I've just realised that there are a ton of Anberlin B-Sides I've never heard, which is mental as they are one of my favourite bands. Seems impossible to find these the UK as they are only on the US iTunes. Does anybody have any of the below they could send me? (Or a digital location to buy from the UK) Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place 1. "All We Have" (iTunes exclusive) 3:32 2. "I'd Like to Die" (independent in-store exclusive) 4:14 3. "Impossible" (acoustic; Amazon MP3 exclusive) 4:23 4. "Hell or High Water" (Newbury Comics exclusive) New Surrender 13. "Said and Done" 14. "The Unwinding Cable Car" (acoustic) 13. "Heavier Things Remain (Graviora Manent)" Vital 12. "Safe Here" 12. "Said Too Much" 13. "No Love to Speak"
Can’t find a YouTube link for it but Stephen and Christian played at something called Tampa Sessions. Stephen played a few Anberlin songs and a few A&B songs, even had his wife come up and they both did a worship song Christian played a few Loose Talk songs then some Acceptance
Also, wow! So excited they’re coming back...didn’t get a chance to see them before they took a break so this is amazing
I would love for them to go in the alt-Christian direction like Paper Route (if they still exist), MuteMath (if they still exist), etc, but it’ll probably be bands that would fit on the bill of Warped Tour
I was looking at old tour posters online and it’s amazing how many bands from the scene they toured with are no more. I think Bayside would make sense because they’ve always been good friends and have toured together. The Maine would also be awesome.
Honestly they should take out Story of the Year. When SOTY was huge, they took Anberlin out on multiple tours and promoted them (that's how I got into them). Now that SOTY has fallen off of a lot of people's radar and Anberlin seems to be bigger, I think they should pay it back Also that lineup would just be flat out incredible.
I'm out of the loop. Are they for sure back in a real way? Like, a tour and some new music? If they go on tour, I hope they play some songs off their farewell album, which I think I recall not being played literally at all. Tied with DITW for my second favorite after Cities. "Armageddon" & "Stranger Ways" are both probably in my top 5 songs of theirs.
