Silverline EP - July 29, 2022 1. Two Graves 2. Nothing Lost 3. Body Language 4. Asking 5. Circles Convinced EP - June 30, 2023 1. Lacerate 2. Decoder 3. Bansheee 4. Animals 5. Nothing More
did we get confirmation that the second EP was dropping this year? I knew another was in the works that they'd combine with Silverline and a couple more songs to make a full album, but i don't recall seeing a release period.
He said at the Cleveland shows that another EP is coming this year and I’m pretty sure he said it in an interview I read as well
Body Language is awesome. Love how it swells. The drums in the third chorus gave me goosebumps! Not a fan of Nothing Lost, love Asking. If I were to quick rank the songs I’d have it: 1. Body Language 2. Two Graves 3. Circles 4. Asking 5. Nothing Lost
Funny to think a band whose major-label debut leaked months in advance has now outlived the very concept of album leaks altogether.
Gosh I love hearing new Anberlin. This absolutely sounds like natural progression from Lowborn to me, and that’s probably not what a lot of people wanted, but it’s exactly what I wanted.
Wow, completely forgot this came out tonight/today. What a pleasant surprise. Gave the three new songs a once through listen, and will digest more tomorrow. Kinda weird flow having two absolute heavy bangers as bookends and two slow songs back to back. I really like Nothing Lost and that first chorus gave me goosebumps. Stoked to have this and DGD on my 5 hour drive tomorrow!!
I love this. So much. Anberlin is my favorite band ever and never stopped being my favorite band after hanging it up. I cannot describe how much it means to me to be hearing 5 new songs. Moreover, the fact that these songs fit so squarely into 2022. It really feels like they updated their sound to perfectly fit today. It’s somehow unmistakably Anberlin and yet sounds so in line with the styles of music that reel me in these days. I’m just really, really grateful. I freaking love this band.
Just commenting on the new songs, but they're all excellent and feel like a natural evolution of Vital and Lowborn. I echo the sentiment about the backing vocals, it's nice having them more on the forefront. Of the three songs, Nothing Lost is my favorite but I've always leaned more towards their rock-ier side than the rest, so that was to be expected. The flow being a bit odd is my only complaint, but that may be fixed if they intend on packaging both EPs into an album with a reshuffled tracklist.
Drinking my coffee this morning with a huge grin on my face listening to this. This is exactly what I want from Anberlin in 2022. Definitely feels like Anberlin but also a progression forward. Feels so good to be listening to new Anberlin tunes.
Hmm, it was a ...decision... to release Two Graves and Circles and leave the middle for the listening experience. I expected at least one to be a little more upbeat.
