Anberlin played the new song “7” live with Matty Mullins on vocals. They also played another new one called “Walk Alone.”

Doesn't feel like Anberlin, but I'm not gonna write it off yet.

Walk Alone has an earlier Anberlin vibe and I honestly really like it. What I'm curious about is if this is a song that Stephen originally wrote and sang on and am looking forward to hearing it someday.

Matty is killing it on the old and the new stuff in my book. Didn’t always love newer Anberlin, but both of the new songs sound great.

I am conflicted here. Anberlin, being one of my favorite bands of all time, crushed me when they announced their breakup the first time. However, I honestly feel like I would prefer them to just establish a new band, and let the legacy die here. It is unfortunate, because I really enjoyed "some" of their songs off of both EP's recently released.

Everyone in this band brings it, but they have always been incredibly distinct due to Stephens voice.

It's tough because I feel like bands like Real Friends have done well since swapping lead singers despite having a pretty unique lead vocalist. So I'm still holding out judgment until I get studio recordings and more live stuff from Anberlin.
