can we like, go back to talking about this film (and its possible halfway-decency the bulk of reviews seem to suggest) instead of discussing sausage party in Q3 of 2020
lmao i was joking about sausage party being the best, guys, but ok i thought it was hella funny while stoned. pretty sure that's all it's trying to be.
I remember seeing Sausage Party in theaters and having an older lady walk out during the orgy scene. All I could think was “after everything else in this movie this is the last straw?”
I loved Sausage Party the first time I saw it and thought it was hilarious but when I rewatched it a few years later I did not enjoy it that much.
they were really just trying to make the most absurd and ridiculous movie possible and play it off like a pixar film. they take it to an extreme and it's obviously not a clever movie by any means, but i was cracking up the whole time so i can't complain.
Seth Rogen tiers (Seth Rogen + Evan Goldberg/Point Grey Pictures only so no Apatow ones like Knocked Up) The Classics: Superbad, This is the End, Pineapple Express The Really Good Ones: Neighbors 1&2, The Disaster Artist, Good Boys, 50/50 The Ok Ones: Long Shot, Blockers, The Interview, The Night Before The Bad Ones: The Green Hornet, The Watch, Sausage Party, Game Over Man! Based on the reception, I'm hopeful this goes in the really good ones tier?
@soggytime That list is 100% correct for the ones I have seen. My only though is that maybe The Night Before moves up just one tier.
also, i’m gonna be pissed/disappointed if there’s jokes about jews that are no better than what we got out of jojo rabbit, but i’m not too worried since it’s rogen
knocked up > 50/50> long shot > funny people > superbad > neighbors > take this waltz > 40 year old virgin > this is the end > zack and miri make a porno > pineapple express > the disaster artist > sausage party > green hornet > the guilt trip > observe and report
it's my bad. i could've NOT used examples of which rogen films are top/mid/bottom tier but i had to be an overexplainer...
