I thought the trailer was bad. It makes the movie look both cliche and insufferably quirky. Which I guess it might just be.
Both were nominated for best picture in 2013 and in theaters around the same time. I swear I saw some terrible review say that American Hustle was the real Marty crime movie to see and to skip Wolf. of course, no one remembers American Hustle and Wolf is clearly another classic from Marty
Because they were both about sort of the same thing people put them head to head. Since many people believed (and let's be honest, still believe) that depiction equals endorsement, The Wolf of Wall Street was painted as hedonistic in comparison to American Hustle.
Three Kings was important to me at the time because it was strange and offbeat in a way I had never experienced at 11 or so. I haven't seen it in years, but I always hated that it was called Three Kings with four major characters, kind of giving away someone's fate.
Every time I see the trailer I’m like yeah I’d 100% forget what happens in this movie as soon as I leave the theater.
It was one of the most unique film experiences I've ever had in the sense that it ended and I instantly remembered absolutely nothing. It was like someone did the flash thing from Men in Black and erased two hours. I couldn't tell you a single thing about it.
Literally the only thing I remember about American Hustle is Bradley Cooper hitting Louis CK in the head with a phone
Christian Bale yells at Jennifer Lawrence for breaking the science oven and I still call the microwave that to this day. That’s the only thing I remember from it.
