Well one thing that comes to mind is why do the police have some buff guy in a leather jock strap to slap people around?
This is a direct call back to a scene from the Willliam Friedkin (Director of The Exorcist) film Cruising with AL Pacino from the early 80s. This whole season seems to be an homage to that film. It's about a serial killer stalking leather bars.
It makes sense if you're familiar with the movie, it's a super obscure queer reference but I appreciate Ryan Murphy adding it.
I appreciative how straight forward this season is as a detective style slasher. Like most seasons, this one in particular is extra queer in the cast and references.
Oh I fully expect it to happen at some point. I just need some build up before it happens. Joe Mantello is the highlight of the season.
That scene this week when Russel Tovey puts his leather on again for the first time in awhile…that made me feel a certain way and I loved it.
Latest two episodes were really good. I like where this story is going. Kind of strange how little buzz there is this season, have a feeling the gay-centric storyline has turned off a lot of straight viewers (the Bros effect ha).
I also feel like there wasn't much advertising or awareness of the season. Plus FX is just plowing through it with 2 episodes/week. Not sure if that's due to a late start for filming or what, but the whole rollout seems odd for one of their bigger shows.
I agree, I honestly though the later episodes were maybe due to some of the content. It was quite jarring to see that whole Fire Island party scene on FX last week, def was happy to see it but that might be the gayest thing to ever air on cable television.
Ya I didn't even find out it was on until Saturday and didn't even know the theme this year. Not sure what was different this season that I missed the memo other than that I've been trying to be on twitter less lol
I'm a lesbian and I didn't watch Bros. It's not even that I find Billy insufferable, he's fine, I just don't need another cis white gay male movie. I think a lot of poc queers felt the same way
