oh i totally will. I'm interested to see where it goes and i trust the show. was just giving my first impression. sidenote: i love all things Cuba Gooding Jr.
I remember absolutely hating it. They did the re-enactment style as well. Idk maybe I just need to rewatch the premiere in a better mood
YES. For the last few years this show has grown somewhat stale, this is reinvigorating it with a new twist. It feels like something brand new to me, and I'm very excited to see where the story goes.
I didn't hate it. I have enjoyed part of every season. After the last episode of Hotel I was about ready to quit though.....
I really enjoyed that. Never finished S4 and totally skipped last season, but this premiere has me intrigued. Hopefully, the show can sustain itself this time around.
I enjoyed the episode. The only full season of AHS i've ever seen was Coven, and i found it kind of disappointing. How would ya'll rank the seasons in terms of quality?
so hard for me to rank honestly, but maybe.... Murder House > Asylum > Hotel > Coven > Freak maybe????
1. Murder House 2. Asylum 3. Coven 4. Hotel 5. Freak Show (Coven is actually my favorite season though)
I always check out the first episode or two of each season of this show to see what's up and this was BY FAR the most interesting it's ever been.
I am sure I'm wrong, but I feel like the idea that they're all alive and well and telling their story is a red herring. I feel like there's a reason they're portrayed by people who are older than they are (besides the sister). I think either the story is about two couples who experience the same thing and it's a never-ending cycle of events, or the trailer that wasn't a fake was the one involving an abduction - and they're recounting their experiences from an alien ship or some other medium. It could still be them but a different version of themselves. It's controversial and ludicrous but it's something Murphy would do...
That premiere was completely unexpected. Loved every minute of it though. Was really excited to see Cuba Gooding Jr. in this. Thought he was great in America Crime Story. The addition of André Holland is more than welcomed. Very talented actor. Was incredible in The Knick. Can't wait see where they go from here.
Thought that movie was pretty disappointing. Loved the concept though and I can see how it might apply to this in more way the one.
Roanoke was also called Croatoan.. Sarah Paulson's character in season one (the psychic) talks about it in season one in great lengths as the only successful story she knows of casting out spirits
I'm thinking that there are going to be multiple stories this season. My Roanoke Nightmare consuming maybe 3-4 episodes. An anthology type season. I'm just having trouble seeing this one story account for the whole season. Just watched the promo/teaser for the second episode. Denis O'Hare definitely plays the guy in the video footage. It also looks like we have to wait until next week before we get our credits scene. A lot of shows wait an episode or two before premiering the intro, anyhow.
