Whaaat why is Hotel so low for so many of you? Asylum Hotel Murder House Coven Freak Show Roanoke Cult might break into my top 3 depending on how it ends.
Asylum Cult (unless it drops off in the final episodes) Hotel Freak Show Murder House Coven Roanoke Still no Lily Rabe or Denis O'Hare in Cult though
I don't even need to see the rest of Cult to know that the worst thing about this season is Lena Dunham.
This is fair, especially for Jessica Lange's character. However, I feel like that's something AHS has always suffered from- every season feels like they just throw a ton at you at the end. Especially Hotel and Roanoke.
Lol how the hell is Freak Show that high up on your list?! To me, it's the absolute worst and it's not even close to the second worst XD I mean, to each their own, no disrespect I just thought it was funny :P
Hotel is far and away the worst season (granted, I haven't been able to get through the entire thing). I binged Freak Show on Netflix which may have been different than watching week to week, but I remember thinking it was the most consistent season since Murder House.
I'll have to do a rewatch front to back of it, but I felt that it bounced between characters so often that you didn't really get invested in them, like they had too much to juggle with. Maybe not having commercials and a week in between will make it more cohesive idk
I also prooobably have bad opinions because I really liked Hotel aside from the "big reveal" of the killer heh. Maybe I just like ghosts and it reminded me of murder house or something lol
I have a love-hate relationship with Hotel. The friendship between Kathy Bates and Denis O'Hare's characters may be one of my favorite things AHS has done. I really enjoyed Gaga in her role, as well. What I didn't like was the addition of three white guys that I couldn't tell apart for the longest time. Also, the violent r*pe scene fucking ruined me for weeks. It's not the first time Ryan Murphy has used an unnecessary and triggering r*pe in an AHS season, but it still gets to me whenever I think about the scene. I refused to to watch the show for months because of it until my friend told me the season was fun.
I like it, idk! I thought it was pretty creepy, cool film techniques that weren't too overbearing to the point where it was all style and no substance (like Hotel was, for me), enjoyed Lange in her final role. Dandy and Twisty were good villains imo.
I don't think I remember this scene well unless you're referring to the first episode, the guy with the drill. I remember being told by friends that Coven is also really triggering, especially the way they film it (with the camera blacking in-and-out of consciousness while the r*pe occurs). That scene seemed really unnecessary. Also that time when one of the characters masturbates to a minotaur. Really strange/unnecessary.
I don't know what to think about this last episode. I mean we knew Kai was fucked up, but he took it to another level. Looking forward to watching his downfall. Also it was great to see Ally with some confidence and start turning the tables a bit.
The ending of episode 7 makes me think Kai spiraling now is part of an act. Episode 6 already showed just how manipulative he can be. It's all part of the plan.
Added this to my list recently, definitely sounded interesting and I've read positive things. Did you enjoy both seasons?
First season was cool. Paul Schneider aka Mark from Parks and Rec was actually tolerable as the lead. Very creepy show.
It's the only season I haven't watched more than the first episode. Not because it was bad, but because the general concept of being wrongfully committed and then nobody believing you bc you're "crazy" just freaks me out because it's a very real thing that can and does happen.
Curious to see if we'll get a more Halloween-centric episode this Tuesday. Seems to be common for this show but I'm not sure if the premise lends to it
