Fine I'll say it That was scary as shit, those FUCKING CLOWNS. Interesting premiere, definitely curious where they go with it
No but like if you think about it that one clown kind of looks like Glob (which I'm sure is based on another archetype that I'm just not remembering). And yeah, I totally talked about the election with my therapist on more than one occasion.
This could easily become the most meaningful season of the show if they handle these topics right and avoid the show/Ryan Murphy's usual pitfalls - over cluttering the plot, trying to jam too much in, losing focus about what they are trying g to say in the first place. The premise is good though and way more interesting than I feared an election based season would be. I like the way they're weaving in mental illness in terms of a post-Trump America. Ally's (Sarah Paulson's character's name right?) reactions are definitely intentionally over the top. I like @Aaron Mook's take that the point may actually end up being that people didn't react when they should have. It seems like they really are trying to play with how both sides of the political aisle see each other. The deplorable Trump supporter eating cheetohs in his parents basement vs his safe space, trigger warning needing. sister. It's very clearly intentional, just not fully clear where they are going with. I'm definitely hooked, although I'm 6 seasons deep so it's not like I'll ever not watch this show now anyway.
He practically confirmed that it's Dante's Inferno, right? Like, how can you not stay on for the rest of it now with a concept like that?
I am going to stick with it. If I am being honest though... I was bored to death for pretty much the whole episode.
In 5th grade Winter wrote a love letter to Paula Abdul, why is this so funny to me, so many jokes like that peppered in
Didn't catch the premiere, but I think I'll sit this season out unless I hear great things about how it develops over more episodes.
Safe to say I'll never hire Winter to babysit . I hope Colton Haynes has a big role this season, he's a great actor.
Holy shit, that premiere was borderline perfect? Reminds me so much of Scream Queens. Legitimately creepy but obviously so self-aware of it's own ridiculousness. Ryan Murphy is finally figuring out that camp and scares works better than taking yourself too seriously. Amazing.
Watched the premiere last night. Was terrified going to the basement to change my laundry over after. I kept looking for clowns in the shadows haha
enjoyed this premier more than I have in years. we will see if it sticks but I am excited for this season, very interesting stuff.
I had no idea what to expect after the first fifteen minutes, but by the time the episode finished - I thoroughly enjoyed it. They said "fuck" three times. I remember they said it a few times during American Crime Story. Those scenes with the babysitter and the boy are really hard to watch. Do we know who she (the babysitter) is to Evan Peters' character? Can't remember hearing her name.
I don't remember hearing it in Fargo and I haven't watched a new episode of Always Sunny in five years probably. Interesting though.
The scene with the brothers talking on the phone, while he was on the bus. There were three in quick succession. lol. I don't know why such a pointless tidbit is stuck in my head. Also, a few times by miscellaneous characters, albeit it was hard to hear.
That's what I thought too. But he didn't even seem to blink when she started talking about her experiences haha.
FX doesn't give a fuck about fucks. Actually, FX and all "cable channels" (not basic cable) are not regulated by the FCC, never have been. All these channels are self-regulated. In the past, most cable channels stayed away from language and nudity, but only to please advertisers. It seems they are caring less and less as time goes on, probably because advertisers care less and less
