I dunno, I thought this season's been pretty scary. I've only seen Murder House, Freak Show, and Hotel, but Roanoke takes the cake on all of them. Murder House was my favorite, but it was more interesting and creepy than scary. This season has made me jump from my seat multiple times.
Ever since Asylum, I've thought of this show as primarily a drama but with horror elements, a la Hannibal or even TWD. Even when some of the characters were shit (Coven/Freak Show), it tried to put character before anything else. Roanoke sort of defies this, it's much more interested in presentation, concept, and actual scares than developing its characters. Since this is now the third time that a season focused on a location where the dead are trapped, it's still not exactly scary anymore, but I think it's more concerned with trying to be.
When Lee was in the fugue state, I was fully ready to believe that the same thing happened when she killed Mason...but she had no clue what she'd done to the tumblr kids and Audrey and Monet(sp?), so that theory's out.
Yeah I've never really thought any of the seasons have been scary but they are definitely creepy and fucked up that's for sure. Never finished Murder House but I feel like Freak Show has been the creepiest to me.
It just doesn't add up to me, but I don't have any evidence or know why I feel that way. Maybe I just want her to be innocent.
can someone help me with the timeline in the most recent episode, number 9? The kids with the go pros and shit were there, saw the wrecked car, went to the police, and then went back to the house? Wouldn't the police have swarmed the area when they discovered the car/body?
The police didn't believe the kids. I think the body wasn't there by the time the cops got there or something like that. (Or the cops are covering things up.)
i can buy that. but the timeline i said is what seems to have happened? kids were there, left, then came back?
Yeah, I don't know what happened in the latest episode, it felt like a bad b-horror film, didn't seem purposely done.
Yeah I think it's usually 12-15 episodes. Honestly this last episode will have to be utter shit for S6 not to end up as my second favorite season
Welp, that was an unsatisfying ending. and wtf happened to Lee eating the heart and going evil like the butcher? Literally zero mention of it, I was expecting her to start killing people when the blood moon came out..
I actually liked that ending *shrug* I've just accepted that every finale of this show is going to be rushed because of how many characters and plotlines they introduce. I feel like that's kind of the point.
What a crazy season, dug the final episode. One of the few seasons I didn't think fell completley apart by the end, probably because of the specific format this season keeping it interesting
