And people are quick to call you out and burn you at the stake without calmly discussing why so we can all understand each other and get on the same page, which I know we all are on, but somehow shit is getting miscommunicated. How am I supposed to understand when people are only telling me I'm an asshole and not explaining themselves after I've tried explaining myself a couple times now? You guys are being pretty ruthless.

Just PM me, unless you feel like doing it in here is beneficial. I'm more than willing to talk about it.

pretty amped that the album exists though, they created some nice textures here. What i really love about it is the production, the drums really drive the album for me and let some of these slower songs "groove". The harmonic structure is quite interesting too, lots of major 7th chords and lots of really impressive guitar work. The vocals are good, I like the delivery, I wish he sang in his higher range a little bit more like on the first LP thats where the melodies differ the most for me but I still enjoy the delivery. overall i'm glad they made the record

  3. I see it as a reunion record and not a follow-up record. Comparing it to the first album, I definitely have a few things I wish they'd done differently, but for what it is (just the band getting back together and writing a new album) I think it's pretty great!

The closing instrumentals on Born To Lose are classic AF.

    is this a dream? ✫・゜

Everyone needs to remember Mike is 17 years older in this record compared to previous. Would you sound the same 17 years later? The answer is no.

I didn't finish this but it's not bad. Fitting for the season, nowhere near its predecessor. Kinda what I expected

I had no idea that this was happening. Or maybe I thought it was a re release of the original album.

    I think it's a fantastic album. Kinsella owned 2016.

This has more or less already been discussed in here, but if it wasn't for some of the lyrics (which at times are cringeworthy) I think this could have been better than the first album. Part of what makes the first album so great is how understated its lyrical themes are, and how the music perfectly conveys those sentiments. Instead it does just sorta feel more like another Owen album, which is more than fine, but it's not really what American Football has been to me and therefore I feel it's just that bit inferior to its predecessor. It's frustrating though, because the music is great and Kinsella has written great lines in the past (or even this year on King of Whys).

But that line about lingerie...? It's just so bad.

I dunno why, but I'm waiting 'till the official release date to listen. I've built the date as kind of a holiday to look forward to.

I forgot that this thing hadn't been officially released yet. It comes out right when I head home for fall break from college, so I've been holding off on listening to it until then. Walking around the town I grew up in, leaves on the ground, my dog at my side, listening to this album... man, I am so excited

    beautiful and chequered, the end

I second how bad the Lingerie lyric is. Im so into that song till that final bridge, which the lyrics then 100% ruin it.
