What are people's favourite ambient records of 2021 up to this point? Want to know if I've missed anything great.

@OotyPa The opener on that Black Swan record just caught me off guard in the best way.

I'm back with another round of recent faves.

Taranoya - Becoming (lazy comparison, but riyl Grouper, Julianna Barwick)

kafari - Blanket of Black (usually not a fan of ambient music with beats, but I really dig this)

Matt Lajoie - Cosmic Commission (this is his 5th or 6th release for the year, dude is unreal. There is another one coming out this Friday)

Grandbruit - Juste avant l'automne (whole Grandbruit discography is great, totally worth your money)

Thanks for all the recent recommendations, my wish-list grows longer by the day. If someone wants to become bandcamp buddies, let me know. I love going through peoples' purchases and wish-lists.

Shocked that I completely forgot that there was a new Grouper album coming out, but it was a pleasant surprise to see this morning. It's beautiful, which should come as no surprise. Ode to the Blue hurts.

one of his most popular but most definitely not his best! The Palm at the End of the Mind is an amazing career-spanning collection put together by his daughter, which I highly rec!

Finding this extremely captivating; just how much of a place each track feels. The precision and attention to detail is quite something.
