Sorry for not posting in the thread recently, I did try to listen to pretty much everything that got posted though and managed to find a bunch of things I really liked, so thanks everyone. I have been kind of overwhelmed with all the music I bought on all of those bandcamp fridays so I still have a huge backlog, but here is some stuff that has helped me the last couple of months: Marsha Fisher - New Ruins (this has kind of an interesting backstory, as it has tape-loops that come from old Christian genre music and praise cassettes) James Osland - Almond Drive (love the use of field recordings in this one) Pool Of Light - Modern Caveman (unreal drone stuff from Russia) Kelby Clark - Fields Of Divination (pedal steel goodness) kj - saturnalia (I have fallen in love with all things kj recently, and this is his newest work) I'll follow up with a couple more from last week in a bit if that is ok. Much love, everyone.
So hyped to dig into these, thanks y'all for sharing. This genre isn't as huge for me during the summertime but whenever I return to it, it always makes me feel cozy in my own skin.
Hollie Kenniff new album featuring her husband Keith (aka Goldmund aka Helios) on 2 tracks. Album was mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri
Great freaking original song. Kind of melting rock, electro with a weird but great touch. And spot on for the lyrics dealing with substance abuse :
not sure if you guys are aware but will (formerly of tiny engines) has a new label that mostly caters to this style of music. they now have 10 releases and released a sampler. all but 2 of the artists fit in here nicely.
Still have a lot to catch up on but thoroughly enjoyed new Walt McClements and the kj album. Nick Zanca, formerly known as Mister Lies, is dropping his debut ambient/experimental album soon. The description and first single are pretty cool.
so. much. stuff. I really appreciate this thread & everyone posting - it’s just so much shit out there it’s hard to keep up with all other gentes not to mention you know real life
New Nadia Struiwigh album dropped a month ago, and I’m somehow just now finding out. Her debut was a favorite of mine a few years back. Excited to hear this one.
Here are some more recent releases that some of you might enjoy: Arian Shafiee - Pastorale (almost every track on this one is a cooperation with someone (Chuck Johnson, Claire Rousay to name a few), so it sounds super diverse and interesting Ian William Craig has a new (18+ minutes long) song on a split: If I remember correctly there were multiple people who also enjoyed Dolphin Midwives' latest output, so here is the new album. But beware: this is way more vocal-centric that Liminal Garden. Dolphin Midwives - Body Of Water And finally this is probably my favorite "ambient-adjacent" summer album that you can listen to even when the sun is out and about. Corntuth - The Desert Is Paper Thin
That Bvdub double album that came out last month is a bit of an undertaking but it's so fucking good.
New Pendant (Huerco S.) incoming. https://inverted-audio.com/huerco-s...-all-sides-they-will-stretch-out-their-hands/ September 10.

New Tim Hecker score Unable to give it much of a review because I've fallen asleep to it multiple times already, but I think in a good way haha.
