Atli Örvarsson's new debut solo album "You Are Here" stunned me today - track "Solid Ground" is absolutely gorgeous; like I almost tear up every time I listen to it
new laraaji and bing & ruth today, been waiting for these this should also be great, last track features balam acab
Suggestions on resources for ambient / Experimental artists? Cool blogs that actually return emails, oddball labels that don't immediately delete my notes or any .. thing really? Haha. Thank you
Haven’t listened to a ton of ambient this year but this Bing and Ruth album is one of my favorites in a while
really loving Species. it wasn't talked a lot in this thread but i thought the This Will Destroy You album from earlier this year was v Bing and Ruthy, really gorgeous stuff. hyped to check out that Vantzou album. I love (most of) her stuff.
Subbing to this thread. I've been enjoying the last This Will Destroy You record, so I've been looking for some more ambient music to calm me down in the late evening at the end of a heavyhearted day. Also, love me some Eluvium.
Got a new record player (first one ever!) and ordered myself Kyle Bobby Dunn and the Infinite Sadness (not the $500 artist-signed copy--dude's such a dick for charging that much for his own autographed record lol). There are a ton of others I want to hear on vinyl but wanted to start off my collection with a few staples. It was hard choosing between Hammock's Raising Your Voice, Trying to Stop an Echo, SotL's Tired Sounds, and Dominique Guiot's L'Univers De La Mer--so I chose this one on a whim.
I felt a bit of guilt for buying the KBD album after what he did to Benoit Pioulard etc so I ordered a bunch of BP albums sigh KBD sounds amazing tho but you should 100% get the SOTL albums - they sound even more amazing on vinyl through a good system
