Have any of you guys heard the new Ian Williams Craig yet? Will probably get to it later today, but I'm super pumped.
I listened a couple times on Friday and really enjoyed it, but it was just in the background: I wasn’t actively listening to it, so I hesitate to compare it to any of his past releases. A lot of my attention has been taken up lately by that Morimoto Naoki album + exploring that label’s back catalogue. Gorgeous stuff. Been enjoying the new Emily A. Sprague (Florist) and Sarah Davachi releases too.
Not sure if this has been posted before, but Emily A. Sprague was talking about it in Pitchfork's feature on what artists have been listening to during the pandemic. It's beautiful, almost all piano-based ambient.
New Windy & Carl out today Also really pumped to listen to this. Simon Fisher Turner's album with Klara Lewis was one of my favorites of 2018.
so much good shit posted in the last two pages alone will report but there’s two that I already love obvs the IWC!!
Saw this on my ‘new releases’ on Spotify. Haven’t listened to him in years, but will have to change that thanks to this album. It good?
Jacaszek, ironomi, and Merrin Karras albums are all gorgeous and incredible in their own ways. I liked the Windy & Carl album too. Simon Fisher Turner is next, then Alaskan Tapes, then Emily A. Sprague. It's an ambient kind of day, y'all.
Kudos on the incredible rec. Been listening to this dude nonstop. His discography is flawless so far.
Ha, thanks. Figured Sprague couldn’t lead us wrong, given how much I love her own ambient material. I haven’t even got beyond the album I posted yet, but good to know the rest is good too.
I know that everyone is kind of overwhelmed with all the new music right now (I definitely am), but this is one I got in a couple of days ago and I absolutely love it. Golem mécanique - Nona, Decima et Morta Think organ drones with chanting, Grouper-like vocals.
Clarice Jensen released her new album today. Her debut is a favorite of mine, so I’ve been really looking forward to this one. https://claricejensen.bandcamp.com/album/the-experience-of-repetition-as-death
