First time hearing about this album. Definitely one of my most anticipated now.

New Olafur isn't really ground breaking stuff in my opinion. I give it a 6/10.

 

Tbh, i haven’t truly loved anything he’s done since ...and they have escaped the weight of darkness

 

I thought it was really beautiful and really well composed

 

Listened to it today and actually enjoyed it. A few tracks reminded me of early Helios. Nothing groundbreaking sure, but he already did that with his earliest material and this is still beautiful, which is good enough for me.

 

Speaking of Helios, new album is out today. No percussion, no non-synth instrumentation whatsoever. It’s a pretty bold step for this project.

I like it so far. Want to listen on good headphones.

haven’t listened to the new one - but at least the previous one was ambient-leaning for sure

(also, we don’t have a general thread for this kind of shit (experimental?) so sometimes I dump that stuff in here because people here are generally into the more avant garde side of music)
