Yeah I really want to check out his older stuff as soon as I've finished digesting Everywhere at the End of Time, which is the only music I've heard of his.
I listened to the track you posted (incredible stuff) but that record has like one song under 10 minutes and there are A LOT of tracks haha. I'll get to it eventually
Definitely into it. I listen to Olafur constantly now. Really some of the most beautiful tunes in existence.
I need to pay more attention to Recital. Sean McCann's Music for Public Ensemble blew me away when it came out and now this Sarah Davachi album is making me go to entirely new places of being
I agree, the new SD is amazing. I live on the lake and had a perfect sunny day Friday to sit on my deck and stare out at the water listening to it. The lake is still frozen :(
not ambient, noise really... but you ambient heads might appreciate it it’s been a long min since a record impressed me like this (specially in this genre)
I really like the new Grouper record. It's brief, and even more sparse than Ruins, but it's a welcome addition to her discography that will receive many a play these spring and summer early mornings and late evenings.
The new bvdub is really good, but it's taking me awhile to get through it. Only one track under 10 minutes. Still gotta catch up on this thread. I never could really get into Sarah Davachi's older stuff and recently tried with this new one and still couldn't get into it--not even sure why. Maybe I just like deeply textural ambient more ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
new Jonsi & Alex project on streaming called All Animals. Pumped to check dat ish out. The "new" Sigur Ros album that's also on streaming is basically ambient too so you all should get on that as well. Seems like it's perfect Grouper weather today. Can't wait to take a depressing walk to it later on.
new grouper is pretty (surprise! surprise!) but I still prefer the old grouper still awesome for a rainy gray afternoon tho
