so the artist didn't love the idea so instead i'm going back next week and getting something i actually like way better anyway as far as tattoos go: the jeannie lynn paske cover art to the life through bombardment vol 2 box set
I decided to listen to A Turn of Breath today and I honestly feel a special regret for not having heard it sooner. Just brilliant.
I am still in awe of Centres. I listened to a decent chunk of Max Richter's eight hour Sleep last night and this morning. LOVED what I heard.
that Celer is really nice - never heard it before, real quiet and subtle I'll try the Konx-Om-Pax later today - don't know them, but it's on the same label as Venetian Snares, which is cool this is a great little album in the more classical style for all of you who worship at the altar of SotL
IWC is god I'd say: A Turn of Breath > Centres > Cradle for the Wanting [large gap] > Zugzwang still have a lot of albums to explore, tho
Disasterpiece, who composed the OST for the videogame Fez, just put out a new OST that is almost as good: Hyper Light Drifter, by Disasterpeace now... if you haven't played Fez, do that first and foremost (NOW) - it is one of the most beautiful games ever also listen to the Fez OST because it is a glorious ambient album - an absolute jewel FEZ OST, by Disasterpeace once all that is taken care of, listen to the new one
huh, didn't know he was putting a new tape out Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - In Summer I love ambient/drone tapes! I'll snatch this one for sure
yeah, posted about it on the general music thread the other day - amazing album here's my review: a beautiful suite inspired by/created for the ultra-modern, privileged/comfortable, hyper-individualistic, western, technological, capitalist human condition applying the unique palette of sounds "created" ("found" is perhaps a more precise term) for Far Side Virtual to modern classical composition techniques, James has created something special a progressive and forward-thinking musical piece, a critical portrayal of the very specific context in which many of us currently inhabit - but also, and not less importantly, a highly listenable and moving experience
subbing Nobody's talking about Helios here, so I figured I'd mention them even tho they've got a post-rocky flair to em, but its also some of the most calming ambient music ive ever listened to so srsly worth checking out. Specifically the albums Eingya and Yume. Caesura and Unomia are good too. Loyal by Heathered Pearls is fantastic for those who like looping and feeling absorbed and mesmerized lol Riceboy Sleeps by Jonsi and Alex (from Sigur Ros) is also something that has stayed with me for years and years A Winged Victory for the Sullen for those who like orchestral instrumentation in their ambience Slow Meadow's album is beautiful Annnddddd Grouper. I love me some Grouper. Light vocals and acoustic strums tho
