Taking songwriting class with Brian Eno this month, lauded as a true hero by the DJ circles I've been hanging out in in Santa Fe Full circle from last year's Adrianne class, which I took whilst getting evicted by hippies, to then getting my whole life back, things I thought would never return, a few months later. V excited Love Brian's Music for Airports and Apollo and other stuff i've heard
Been listening to this 20-minute track a lot after Philip Sherburne recommended it on his Substack: This was originally released under the artist name of "uon," but now he's apparently trying to consolidate all his work under the "Special Guest DJ" name. Was somehow not aware of uon, but I've spent the whole morning listening to his stuff: it's a pretty slim discography though he has lots of releases under other names. It's all great.
ambient-adjacent hip-hop sounds super interesting. I could rec a bunch of trip-hop or cloud-rap albums to you but not sure that's what you're asking for. I conveniently dropped a Balam Acab album in the Recommendations thread, which feels similar to that. maybe this? came out last year and thought it was really interesting, would like to return to it. ambient-metal seems easier. check these
Great interview with a 90-year-old legend. Gonna throw on the boxset now after reading this Tone Glow 171: Hans-Joachim Roedelius
