Yes it is. She's one of my favorites, and one of the most exciting artists around imo. Her solo material is incredible as well. Her previous collab with Spencer Zahn, Pigments, was one of my favorite albums from 2022
The SAW2 bonus tracks that dropped today are dope the new Steve Roach too. dude cannot ever do wrong and this one is heavenly
Had to get this. Krautrock, electronic, and ambient music pioneer, many-times Brian Eno collaborator, and a legend in his own right - a cool boxset of his early (‘68-‘80) unreleased solo material.
also I hope people are listening to the new Yasmin Williams. not ambient but instrumental--and it is truly fantastic. join us in the thread Yasmin Williams - Acadia (October 4, 2024) • forum.chorus.fm
The new Kyle Bobby Dunn is on streaming services now. Dude is one of the current best, if not the best, at that Stars of the Lid sound.
Also posted in the jazz thread. Incredible nocturnal fourth-world, ECM-adjacent shit. Mesmerizing loops and ripples from front-to-back. Another dizzying, transportive Astral Industries release - sounds like a universe in itself just like the rest of the label's stuff.
That comp is great. Also really enjoyed the new Hammock EP, strong SotL vibes. these recent drops are also worth your time.
absolutely loved seeing Andre 3000 live this weekend. maybe one of the best shows ever. completely improvised from start to finish with some legends as guests (Bilal, Mndsgn, the 100-year-old Marshall Allen from Sun Ra). the stuff they played was different from his album, much more spiritual jazz vibes that verged on overwhelming at times. it reminded me of a messier Jon Hassell in a cool way. I really think he's onto something and everything that comes next (if he continues releasing music) will be even better than New Blue Sun.
The last two songs on that are great. Also HIGHLY recommend checking out this one, might make my top 10 ambient aoty. Truly great lineup featuring Laraaji, Bill Frisell, and more.
