The Silent Ballet was great as well, when that existed, even though that was geared more towards post-rock.

This came out a while ago, but I only just discovered it. Alex Somers from Riceboy Sleeps-- if you're a fan of string-based ambient, this whole soundtrack is heaven. This track features Jonsi from Sigur Ros

 

I love this, heard it awhile back. Anything Sigur Ros inspired is great to my earh0les.

 

new Max Richter tomorrow, it is inspired by the life and work of Virginia Woolf - not really ambient, but you know...

[we could probably expand this thread to include drone, noise, contemporary classical, lower case, electroacoustic, field recordings, etc. because we already go about a lot of that stuff here... I'm pretty sure it would only be us posting about that shit, so no need for a new thread LOL, but yeah...]

I was a literature major and love woolf and max richter so this sounds right up my alley

 

Bing & Ruth is out on February 17th through 4AD @Horrorca, but unfortunately it leaked a month early.
