I'm ok with this, although I think they'll push a little more in for their US tour, so I'd expect maybe the higher end of your ranges. And on Dirty Work, didn't Alex say somewhere he wanted to put Return the Favor in (I'm pretty sure he tweeted about it). I would expect that as well. They've also kept Time-Bomb in their set pretty religiously, although I have no idea who's actually still asking for that.
Same goes for Do You Want Me (Dead)?, Guts, Forget About It, and Under a Paper Moon. (But hey you all know me, just over here in my lonely corner defending Dirty Work).
time-bomb is a good song i just don't think enough of their fanbase cares about most of those songs to throw in more than one at this point
I don't dislike Time-Bomb. I liked it a lot when it came out, and I still think it's a good song, I'm just burned out on it, especially live because it's always the one Dirty Work song played when there are so many more I'd like to see, but just like you said, that's because no one is really clamoring for the Dirty Work songs to be played, so it makes sense. Agree that they'll probably only do one, so I'd bet on Return the Favor being the only DW song.
yeah, they're at a point in their career where they really need to pick and choose, as well as accent the material they really want to represent them, so we're going to see them adjust to the songs that will be the set staples for the rest of their careers. especially with a bloated lineup like this one, i can't see them having more than an hour-75 mins max
The setlist they've been doing for the last few weeks headlining in Japan / Australia: Weightless Somewhere in Neverland Cinderblock Garden A Love Like War Backseat Serenade Life of the Party Kids in the Dark Something's Gotta Give Therapy Missing You Six Feet Under the Stars Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't) Dirty Laundry --------- Lost In Stereo Jasey Rae Dear Maria Now that LYR is officially out, I wouldn't be surprised to se a song or two added to this, or swapped out. I really hope Nice2KnoU is added (even though that stylization is really god awful). I have a feeling either Jasey or Six Feet would be the first to get the axe, unfortunately. Also, Alex teased on Twitter that it "might be time" to bring Vegas back, which, if that took Six Feet's place, I'd be TOTALLY fine with.
On their last tour they had the crowd pick between the two of those. I love lyr so I'm down for a few songs getting kicked for more of that album.
I could see them going to 19 songs for the U.S. tour, adding in "Good Times," "Nice2KnoU" and another new one (maybe "Nightmares")
They'll probably cut something like Damned for Vegas, not Six Feet. Would defeat the purpose of a SWIR tribute.
It's way too weird for me to think that Damned If I Do Ya could ever be dropped from the setlist (I realize that it could easily happen, it's just weird to think about).
I really hope they play at least 5/6 of the new songs. I never would have expected that I would like the new album so much I'm not even concerned about the SWIR 10-year anymore. I'd actually rather see LYR songs at this point.
I agree, I love the new album, but I'm wondering if the low sales will impact how many songs they play from it.
That's what I'm hoping for! Also, side note: I had a memory on Facebook from like 2011 and I had said dirty work still sucks and you commented that time bomb was okay. I just thought it was funny because I still feel like that is accurate.
