Agree with this, the songs they put on the EP they upgraded and made them a ton better.

I don't even know what those songs sound like, and I've heard that album many times, not my thing I guess

The hooks on those songs are just undeniable, imo. Especially "Walls."

Walls is the best song on Nothing Personal. Without a doubt.

The Actual Best Songs of All Time Low are...

    Toxic Valentine
    Painting Flowers
    Therapy
    Remembering Sunday
All of Put Up or Shut Up

Really wish I got the same enjoyment out of Don't Panic and Future Hearts that most other folks here have, but they sound like a pretty same-y mush to me. (As does this album.)

I can't imagine thinking FH or LYR is more samey than PUOSU or even SWIR. I can see that criticism for Don't Panic, but the last two albums are easily their most dynamic.

I really like those songs and a lot of PUOSU. No idea how DP/FH/LYR sound like they mush together!

  7. I love the production value on PUOSU. But I also love TPS, especially the interludes. Also Jasey Rae is one of their best songs, so...

  8. Painting Flowers and Actors are my two favourite b-sides from these guys and every time they release new music I hope it sounds like those songs.

I hadn't heard Dirty Work aside from Heroes in a long time and holy fuck Do You Want Me (Dead?) is so sick

Let me just say that I know artists change and evolve and incorporate new sounds to stay relevant. That is great and it's great that their music is still able to connect with people. However, for me, most of the choices that ATL have made in their more recent music to appeal to a broader audience do not appeal to me. I personally do not feel they make the songs more interesting. (And, in very broad strokes, I feel that way about most 90's-00's rock bands that have followed a similar tack.)

Also, if my music taste is any indication, I'm stuck in 2006, so there.

    Great song.

Also, just generally feel their songwriting and lyricism has become less interesting.

Can't remember who said it, but I agree that the songwriting on PUOSU is pretty impressive for a group of 17-year-olds. They dug deep on those songs lyrically in a way they haven't seemed interested in replicating for their past few records.

I am sure there are songs that prove that I am wrong.

Yeah do you want me dead is awesome, one of the few really killer songs from DW

how's this sitting with you after having it for awhile? I remember you and Thomas were pretty big on FH from listening to the podcast

  16. I really like it. May be my favorite now. I think it's definitely their most cohesive album front to back. My first impressions seem to be solidifying.

This is growing on me. I definitely think the songwriting is more interesting than SWIR or anything that came before it.

There are still little things that bug me, like the first song starting three seconds into the track and how it feels like an eternity between the title track ending and Drugs & Candy starting, but those are minor details. The songs I didn't like as much have definitely grown on me, Nice2KnoU is probably now the only one I could do without. I also think it's cool how they closed out with the two tracks I'd say are most out of left field for them.

As far as non-album tracks go, my favorites are Poison, How the Story Ends, and the cover of True Colors.

I really do not like "Life of the Party" though. That one is a huge dud for me.

Wasn't a huge fan before, but for whatever reason hearing it on the CD in the car made me like it a lot more.

Also, despite whatever qualms I have about the sequencing, Dirty Laundry into Good Times is pretty much perfect.

Most of the songs ATL has written are better then Painting Flowers, let's be real.
