I think I’m probably in the same boat. I love all of their stuff but Movement has everything they excel at.
I've loved everything Nate's put out until Hitchens, which just sort of seems like it's there. I'm not sure why it isn't resonating with me at all like AGO and Ground Me. Hopefully it grows with time, but through the first few listens, it just isn't there.
I still haven't even listened to Hitchens. 2 songs I heard from it didn't do anything for me. i used to adore this band, what happened to my ears..lol
Yeah, aside from a small handful of cuts, this band doesn’t do much of anything for me ears anymore. Not super surprising, but somewhat of a bummer bc I used to adore that first record
There’s a real interesting narrative to the record and I think there are some great melodies. But I don’t think loving all get out necessarily means you’ll love the solo stuff
I join this site years ago because I wanted to talk about AGO with people. I checked the internet twice a day for over a year waiting for updates on The Season. I've loved everything Nathan has ever put out. Hitchens is no exception. I love the writing. It's just super charming. Probably my favourite songwriter.
The Season gets less and less play for me with each project Nathan puts out. I feel his songwriting has gotten better with every release.
He’s definitely getting better and expanding his sound. Hitchens is a nice departure from Ground me imo, and quitter is a different record than the season, I think we got a nice insight into two direction an artist can go in with their sound with movement and quitter. I’m really excited for this next record, I think they know how important is and I doubt they will be pulling any stops. Also from what I understand this is much more of a band record where quitter was basically Nathan with Manchester lol, which I won’t complain about. He’s playing/writing with a band this time thought and I think that will Change the feel of it and maybe excite people who are fans of the earlier releases. Should be intersting, either way I know I’m here for it!
From all the little bits we’ve heard about it I imagine it’s going to be back on the heavier side again, which I would be so into. But definitely, Nathan has showed how dynamic his writing is. Obviously his stuff shares similarities with itself, but he’s great at distinguishing projects from each other.
Agree 100%. I would love more songs like Burn Hot the Records, The Season, and ATX. But really, I'll love whatever Nathan puts out so you do you boo.
Finally got around to listening to Nathan’s episode of Noise Creators. Some good stuff in there, always fun listening to artists talk about recording preferences and records they enjoy from a production standpoint. @teebs41 he gives you guys a little shoutout toward the end!
