my first exposure was that LD tour, too. turned me on to Balance & Composure, as well. still kick myself for not picking up the season on vinyl at that show.
All My Friends Are Dead is my favorite track off Movement. If they put that on the LP I would never complain.
why do I like Movement so much and not care for the rest of their shit at all? is this nrml? does someone else feel this way? I guess it has to do with the distance in time from one release and another, and their evolution as a band...
also based on the songs he played at his solo shows... I have a feeling the lp is going to be a bit lighter than their other material but IDK
Band is really good. I remember reading an article on AP way back in the day with their spitting EP? Maybe it was a review. Hoping for a new album/tour news.
I didn't like movement at first at all because I thought the tracks didn't stand out on their own but now that we are a little bit removed from its original release I think it holds up pretty well as a release bridging The Season and whatever comes next.
The Season is a top 5 all-time album for me. It didn't click immediately, thought I was pretty good and didn't come back to it much. Then I remember putting it on to go for a bike ride to and it hit me incredibly hard. Movement is also fantastic, but I've never really liked the production job on it.
Brand New, Manchester Orchestra, All Get Out, Moving Mountains, and Kevin Devine have been my listening playlist today it's been a good day
the guitars sound tinny, the drums aren't fleshed, and a few other things I'm not the biggest fan of. The songs themselves are fantastic though. The Season as a whole is just beautiful and it's going to be tough to match, just because the bar was set SO high with that album.
weren't talking to me, but I remember really liking the first song on that EP you linked and I never went back to it. Gonna do that tonight, thanks.
