Had no idea this album existed, will check it out today. No Bouqet didn't stick with me at all unfortunately but I did revisit NLAQ yesterday. Solid record.
I've already listened to it so many times and thought the general idea would be that it sounds sick haha ;d ;d to me it's a great album!
I have only listened to one other album from this band (NB), but I think this is great. Obviously it’s heavy on the MO vibes, but I also hear some mewithoutYou.
It’s so hard for me to rank Kodak still, but I’m doing my best: No Bouquet > Quitter > Kodak > The Season > Movement. I might end up swapping Quitter and Kodak, but there’s no way I’ll end up enjoying it more than No Bouquet. That album just rocks.
Been really digging this album, this is definitely a band I feel like I should have liked with my musical tastes. The back half of the album is stacked. If I like more the “heavier” moments from the album like AA Almanac, Walk Me Through It, and Quitter Talk, what albums should start with them?
1. The Season 2. No Bouquet 3. Movement 4. Nobody Likes A Quitter 5. Kodak All great albums, Kodak just hasn't clicked with me yet. I'll give it another go today.
Listened to Kodak again today, good record. Still think the opener was a sick decision and paid off so well.
This is a special album that came out of left field for me. It grows on me with each and every listen, and I wake up with random parts stuck in my head. The songwriting is exceptional and it also has some of my favorite lyrics of the year. It should be a bigger album than it is, although it seems like that is what people have been saying about this band for a while.
I saw them again last night open up for Matt Maeson. Holy shit they sound better every time I see them. Matt Maeson sounded fantastic too.
It's honestly impressive how good this album is. Took a few listens to really get into it but it's my AOTY now - there's no dull moments.
