I Pessimist losing is criminal lol. FBI feels to me more like a Ramones cover than a Trio song and I just don't care for it really at ALL ugh lol
Oh not a top Dan song for me either. And it still irks me they gave Tim a full feature after RA had Matt on TWO songs and just gave him "whoas" to sing that you'd have NO idea Skiba was even on the track if you didn't read the liner notes lol. Although Tim sounds better on that song than he's sounded on any of his own band's stuff since Sufferer lol
I honestly don't dig the versions of those songs on the s/t as much as I do on Goddamnit. Southern Rock is missing Dan's bass noodling in the bridge and Nose Over Tail doesn't have that octave chord progression that I like in the Goddamnit version.
It's probably not even a big deal but for some reason I notice it when I listen to them. Other than those two though, I love that compilation. I'm really glad I got the cd when I did, because they took "Exploding Boy" off of the album on all the streaming platforms and subsequent physical releases.
S/t has so many classics. Goodbye Forever, Bleeder, I Lied My Face Off, My Friend Peter, ‘97...I could go on.
Also I know the verses are rough, but I love the chorus and bridge/outro of Sundials. I love how they used to do those outro jams like on that song, Cringe, Nose Over Tail, Southern Rock, etc.
Until Death Do Us Part I Wanna Be A Warhol Only Love One Last Dance Young Lovers The Torture Doctor She Lied To The FBI Midnight Blue I Wanna Be A Warhol vs. I'm Only Here To Disappoint was the toughest one for me.
The Temptation Of St. Anthony I'm Only Here To Disappoint Only Love One Last Dance Young Lovers Kiss You To Death I Pessimist Broken Wing I did too. I got into them through Asian Man Records mail order comps (How I often discovered bands in the late 90's/very early 2000's) probably around the time S/T came out and I listened to that and Maybe I'll Catch Fire before I finally got Goddamnit. It's crazy how much technology changed in such a short time in regards to our knowledge of and access to music. S/T was also one of those albums I was really into when I first started learning guitar too so I learned those songs.
UntilDo Us part I'm Only Here To Disappoint Only Love One Last Dance Young Lovers Kiss You To Death She Lied To The FBI Broken Wing
The Temptation Of St.Anthony I Wanna Be A Warhol Balanced On A Shelf Pocket Knife Young Lovers The Torture Doctor (this was a hard one) She Lied To The FBI (another difficult choice) Broken Wing (no brainer, but Midnight is one of my top 3 on this album...ugh)
