Broken Wing is essentially My Shame Is True b-sides. If you have them go up against the album I'd bet one of them makes it. Come to think of it, I'd rank some of their songs on Remains among their best as well.
Ugh it all moves too fast I’ve missed too much. I gotta stop going right to the politics thread and make sure I check here damn it! In Vein (I love Calling All but am kind of surprised it beat I Found Away so handily....In Vein is still the first song I heard from this album and it was amazing and I have since way overplayed it to myself but it’s still such a highlight in their catalog and as a Dan song) Do You Wanna Know? (Holllllly shit I know I’ve talked about dan on dan crime but this is brutal. These are probably my top 2songs on the album, and two of their top 5 for me probably. I connected with the lyrics to both very well....I think ultimately I’m just a sucker for poppy love songs from Dan. And it’s a crime it didn’t become a 2nd single for the album because it’s so catchy. I know the label pressured them to add it to the album, 8m surprised they didn’t force a single out of it. I will say I’m surprised in beat In My Stomach so handily, and much like this match up I wouldnt have been quite sure which I would vote for on first glance.)
I didn’t mind the album version, I just didn’t like that song as a closer. I know it would have messed up the rotation of closing songs but In My Stomach should have closed out this album.
In Vein Do You Wanna Know? I think my vote switches between Do You Wanna Know? and Burned Is The House every time I listen to them. Probably my two favorites from this album though.
Calling all skeletons Burned is the house In veins lead has gotten progressively smaller with each round despite progressively weakening competition. Ugh.
