Yeah the only album I don't really care much for is "This Addiction" and even that has "The American Scream"
I find it to be very disappointing in comparasion to their work prior to Derek's inclusion to the band. It has a few solid jams on it, sure, but it is nowhere near as good as MICF or FHTI. Plus it was the beginning of their goofy goth image.
Is the plan still Blink right now and getting that album done and out? Has Matt said anything about Trio studio time, writing or anything?
Yeah agree with This Addiction and Agony & Irony being their weak points. Especially following Crimson, I expected more from A&I
It's up there. Also, as lackluster as This Addiction was, I love "Fine". I think it's a great closer in an otherwise just okay album.
Lead Poisoning is my favorite on Addiction. Top 5 songs I don't really care for at all are American Scream, Draculina, Piss and Vinegar, Into The Night, and Love Love Kiss Kiss
Something about it just reminds me too much of Private Eye idk lol I do however love the acoustic one with Dan singing
To me the song is okay, but I expected more out of the closer. It wasn't a strong closer for me. That's the other weak part of that album, IMO, that keeps it from getting on par with GM with me or being a clear favorite over FHTI and MSIT. I know they've fallen into the closing every other album routine and Dan had just closed out Crimson, but In My Stomach needed to be the end of that album
Last update at the beginning of the last blink tour was that blink was planning to head back into the studio by the end of the year to record a new album. Nothing new on anything Trio wise.
But, but, but....Burned is the House!!! Probably one of their best songs IMO. I love the production as well as Dan's lyrics. (same goes for "Fine," which is like a warm hug)
I like Agony & Irony. I get what they were going for, but I do question the direction in general, doesn't seem like the sort of thing I would think the average Alk3 fan would embrace.
