Are "Danbots" a thing? Haha I think we're more level headed in here. Sometimes I get a sense among Trio fans (not on here) that they have to pick a side between Matt and Dan, but it's just like they're on the same side lol. Maybe there's impatience and whatnot (they're human) but I feel like nobody gets along better than the three guys in Trio.
I could really use a new album from these guys, MSiT is a solid listen. Dan and Matt are good songwriters ^.^*
Re-listened to MY Shame Is True and dammit, what a hell of an album that is. Those four bonus tracks are top notch too. What a great band. Hope they release something new soon.
The Truth Barrel with Gabrielle Reece and Neil Strauss by PodcastOne on iTunes Blink-182 Frontman, Matt Skiba Grammy-nominated guitarist and vocalist for Blink-182 and Alkaline Trio, Matt Skiba, joins Neil and Gabby in The Truth Barrel to discuss his career, his relationships, and the life philosophy that has led to his success. It's not what you'd expect. In this powerful interview, he discusses facing the disappointment of his father when he decided to become a musician, the exact moment he quit drugs and alcohol, the surprising reason he asked a bandmate to leave the group, and what it was like to take over as frontman for one of the biggest bands of its genre. Along the way, you'll learn Matt's secret for staying positive, connected, and powerful - and the difference between a nice person and a good person. Hint: A good person isn't always nice.
The only issue I see is with blink being a success again they will have to continue to ride their new success as much as possible so I'm not sure how much time Matt would have to devote to Trio between recording and then touring. I can't see blink just sitting back and taking a year off after the European tour, even when Tom was still in the band they would tour each year in the summer. I guess it's silly to speculate until we hear from the band but I'd be worried if Trio isn't in the studio by September.
The new Creeper record has sent me back on a big Alkaline Trio binge. Forgot how much I love Sorry About That.
Just gave Agony & Irony a spin. I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but it's my favorite of the last 3 releases. I actually think it's a top 3 alk3 trio album.
There are a few of us around. It is their #2 for me I believe. Rankings time again! Good Mourning A&I FHTI MSIT MICF Crimson Goddammit This Addiction Goddammit and Crimson switch from time to time, all depends on my mood. Both used to be higher on this list, but I got sick of Crimson after like a year of listening to it lol. Goddammit is just a mood album for me, need to be in the right mood to listen to it/any songs from it.
GM MSIT FHTI Crimson MICF TA A&I Goddammit A&I and TA swap but have my favorite bonus songs too. I wish they were on the actual records.
I feel like I've already done this twice in this thread but oh well. I like them all a lot but I think Addiction and Agony are definitely their two weakest. Goodmourning From Here To Infirmary Goddammit Maybe I'll Catch Fire Crimson My Shame Is True Agony & Irony This Addiction
