i haven't seen the band on tour since 2013 but i'm seeing them next week in boulder. the new songs only heighten my excitement.
Song is great. They’re really on a heater these last couple years. some new dan Alk3 and a solo mostly acoustic album from him would realllllly hit the spot
I couldn't place what the bridge reminded me of until today but it's so Spanish Love Songs - song rules!
I bought a ticket off stubhub to see them tonight but if it’s gonna be another MICF set I’m gonna be kind of annoyed. I saw them do it at their New Year’s Eve show in 2011 and then again for Past Live.
New song is great. So nice to hear this band not sound like they are underwater. Love the production.
I usually just play the whole discography on shuffle in my car and the other day it went from Dorothy straight to something from BH&E and that dump in sound quality was so noticeable. BH&E has great songs but it’s by far their worst sounding record.
I personally prefer that raw sound over the overly glossy production they had from A&I to MSIT but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yea I mean it definitely comes to what you prefer…A&I and This Addiction are my favorite records and I loved the features Matt did on other people songs too around that time, which was mostly polished pop/rock. So naturally, I’m really stoked on Travis’s production
the worst alk3 production is imo these new songs lol, really not a fan of how the sheen has taken all the punch away from them. that said the new song is still amazing so i guess it only matters so much outside of that ive never loved the infirmary prod, cannot stand how the cymbals sound on that
Hot take: the worst Alkaline Trio production is Goddamnit Lol but seriously, when I got into them in 2001, their fanbase was unbearable with the selling out bullshit. I can pretty much appreciate any album being somebody's favorite. Over the years the gatekeeping has really almost completely gone away
Some people like clean sparkling high-level production and some people like listening to things that sound like they were recorded in an airplane hangar.
i like both production styles a lot, but there are also examples of neither working in this discog. regardless, i do like that theyve always changed things up. as a huge fan of both, its cool having a discog with both goddamnit and crimson in it
