Great production (good job Travis) but a pretty forgettable song IMO

 

Dans bass sounds super sexual in this song.

 

My 20+ plays & counting this am would say otherwise. They hit this perfect pocket in the chorus that is an infectious bop. This is my favorite since Blackbird.

 

I'm a casual fan, but this is one of my favorite Alkaline Trio songs I've heard in a while.

 

Get out of here.

 

The way Matt sings “book” makes me chuckle.

 

I love that this sounds like a 1930s radio man description of the song.

i like the vibe of this song but the chorus is kind of weak by alkaline trio standards tbh

 

The chorus is insanely catchy, just like my favorite Alkaline Trio songs.

 

just thought it was a little repetitive and predictable myself but it might grow on me. last two albums are full of all timer hooks so they def still got it

 

Matt’s vocals are superb on this track.

Digging the song! Does anyone know if they ended in good terms with Derek? The way the press release was written gave me weird vibes.

 

"It is with mixed emotions that I've decided to step down as drummer for Alkaline Trio," Grant says in a statement. "The demands of being in a touring band have become increasingly difficult in recent years, and while this was a difficult decision to make, it's the best thing for me and my mental health."

The drummer continues, "I want to thank everyone who's supported the band. Alkaline Trio has the best fans in the world — many of whom I've gotten to know over the years. I'll miss seeing you all. I also want to thank Blair Dickerson for being a true friend and a great manager."

He adds, "Most of all, I want to thank Matt and Dan for 22 amazing years I got to travel the world playing music with two of my best friends, and the bond that we share can never be broken. I wish them all the best moving forward. While I'll be focusing more on production music and visual art, I promise you haven't heard the last of me."

The band says, "In light of Derek's decision to step down as a member of the band, we'd like to send our love and thanks for everything he contributed. It's impossible to put into words all he's done, but we are endlessly proud of what we have accomplished with one another. Beyond the music, we appreciate all our memories — the tours, traveling the world, spending weeks making music in the studio, everything. We love you, Derek, and hope your next chapters will be filled with success and happiness."

 

Did anyone else grow up listening to a different Sadie? The one on Spotify sounds so different to the one on u original CD. I think I prefer the original.

 

I always preferred the more raw sounding version on Remains as opposed to the one on Crimson

 

streaming for whatever reason swaps the album sadie with the remains sadie...one of many reasons i dont fw streaming lmao

 

Yeah I had to add the proper Crimson version to my Apple Music library because I hate that streaming only has the Remains version. I don't mind the Remains version at all, but not when I'm listening to a pristine Jerry Finn production.
