I think he's an admirer of Anton LaVey and a fan of aspects of LaVeyan Satanism but I don't think he takes it super seriously.
Are you saying a man who at one time said he keeps this photo in his wallet doesn't take something seriously?
Definitely post whatever you can in terms of information on future plans along with how happy the guys seem/their demeanor.
He did it exactly for that ha. I know he's into a lot of weird shit. But I think that's why his song writing is so great.
The three shoes this week, I'm more interested in hearing how well all three of them are getting along on stage. That's key to me. I hope they have energy all three nights.
And is Dan wearing a beanie or no haha. I am not quite sure how I wanted to articulate that last part in my post. I know they won't mail the shows in, but with Blink doing so well, it does feel like things have changed a little in terms of hierarchy. I just want good vibes on that stage all around and for the crowd to show em how much we've missed them.
Yeah, I'm really hoping they have fun and announce new music in some form. EP, Full length, anything really.
You'd think they'd switch up a decent amount of songs three nights in the same place, they must know a ton of people go all three nights. And they've been one of the better bands when I've seen them anyways at changing it up. I know when I saw them once three times in the span of a year, I think I saw like 36 different songs total which isn't bad.
They really do change it up, they don't always end with Radio now and I like that. Cringe is a beautiful way to open up a show though.
I've seen em ten times, I'm bored and trying to make a list of all the songs I've seen. I kept a good list that year (08 into 09) but man setlists are sparse from the early '00's lol. I'm up to 49 at least though haha.
I was there! Such an awesome tour. If only I knew that Matt would be joining blink-182 three months later.
Just got home from the first Metro show. Holy shit. Unreal. Started with "Cringe," closed with "97." No songs from anything post-Crimson. Great energy, good spirits, all that. Whoever is going the rest of the nights, you're in for a great time.
Cringe Nose Over Tail Mercy Me Old School Reasons She Took Him to the Lake I Lied My Face Off Goodbye Forever Sadie Queen of Pain Crawl Time to Waste Tuck Me In Private Eye Continental I Was a Prayer Snake Oil Tanker Armageddon This Could Be Love Every Thug Needs a Lady Cooking Wine ’97 The show was really great! They all seemed happy and had lots of energy. There was some joking and banter between them. Just felt like a regular Alkaline Trio show as if nothing ever changed. Overall, there wasn't much talking and they played through the set pretty quickly. A few mistakes (like they ended Old School Reasons early and skipped the bridge and last chorus before Matt realized it and made them replay the ending) and forgotten lyrics here and there. They didn't give any indication about the future of the band or any upcoming music. No talk of whether the set lists for nights two and three will be any different. There was some merch exclusive to these shows. A t-shirt, hoodie, and poster of the flyer. Three color variations of a Cubs/Alkaline Trio baseball shirt. Then just some standard shirts and a hat.
